Texas fans opinions

Featured Replies

Hello all, just wanted to get your opinion an how our team is performing.  Even if your not a fan and want to comment that is welcome too.

My personal opinion is that Texas has been making me nervous.  Yeah we got the wins but I think we can all agree that it has not been pretty.  So whats the deal?

If they don't pull their heads out, they'll be handed their heads by ou. >:(

Se ya at the game Saturday. 8-)

I think this quote from JFK's speech in 1962 in which the question of why go to the moon?

"Its conquest deserves the best of all mankind, and its opportunity for peaceful cooperation may never come again. But why, some say, the moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask why climb the highest mountain. Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? Why does Rice play Texas? We choose to go to the moon. ;D

There making me nervous as well.  Right now the OU game is not looking  pretty, but as a true fan i'm holding out hope.

I was hoping that the TCU game would have given them the spark they needed.   But after seeing what Air Force did to TCU this weekend, TCU appears to have been over ranked to start the season like UT is.

CFU did beat NC state, but then again, who is the wolf pack?

I'm a die hard Texas fan, and OU is gonna kill us unless we find a defense.    If CFU"S team can burn us that easily, then OU is gonna do the same, just easier.

I know one thing for sure, i hope UT doesn't get the number 5 ranking, its not been very lucky for the teams who have adorned that position thus far.    Michigan and Louisville have been shot down while embracing that spot.

On a positive note, who has OU played that earned them the spot?    I'm not an OU hater, I said the same about UT last year with Colt McCoy as a FR.    Freshmen make mistakes, UT may not have the team to put pressure is his face, but some one will along the way and then we'll see how the freshmen handles himself in the pocket.   Freshmen just make mistakes.

Matt./

Despair not UT (Texas) fans.........Just look at my UT (Tennessee) team and you will feel much better....

Hookem Horns!!!!! I wish ya'll better success than the "not so" Big Orange was able to muster Saturday against a well coached and talented Gator team!

Matt,

I agree, and OU's lack of playing anybody is the only thing that has me holding out hope.  They sure have beating those nobodys easy though.  Like your supposed to.

OU fan here...

Like yall have already stated, the sooner's haven't played "anyone" so far.  They've looked good, but I'll have to wait until the red river shootout to see if they're for real.

See you on October 6th.  Get ready for the smack talk ;)

Well, as you can see, I'm not a real big UT fan.  I really think that you guys are over-rated.  Then again, maybe we are too.  You guys and us are kind of in the same boat this year.  We can both put up points, but neither of us can defend the pass.  Personally, I'm worried that OU will whip both our tails, and that Tech may do the same (and some others if we're not careful). Oh well, I'm looking forward to talking some smack around Thanksgiving.  That may be all we're playing for by then.  Good luck to you longhorns!

BTHO Miami!!

Fisher of Men,  I will give it you Aggies.  Yall look good so far.  My room mate is Aggie Alum so naturally we have our differences on each others teams.

Who is getting to go to the game on OCT 6th?  I got a ticket yesterday as a gift!

I'm there every year for the last 16.

Ain't nothin' like it.  8-)

Texas is making me real nervous with these close games against non ranked teams. I live in a household divided ,Wife and 1 son are big OU fans (he goes to OU). Myself and 2 sons are Texas fans .No need to say it gets real interesting around here when they play.

To be honest with you two, I've never been to a Texas/OU game, although we live about an hour away from Dallas.  We did make it to see the Aggies lose to Notre Dame by 3 back in the '93 Cotton Bowl (great game).  I've never been to College Station to see one either, although I would love to sometime.

I graduated from A&M-Commerce (when it was ETSU).  I'm an aggie by association (cousins, brother, uncle, etc. all went there).

third,

Don't sweat it, we can always fall back on the standard reply.   WE OWN OU!!!!    WE are still ahead in the all time series by about 18 games.

I don't see any pressure coming from UT thus far, and OU may not need to throw it with the speed they have in the backfield.    I just hope that OU looked good because they haven't played an true tests thus far.

On the same note, neither has UT.    I don't think TCU is as good since they lost some key players.   Key injuries have taken there toll on TCU early.

I'm not a hater.    I was hoping that Tamu would keep on moving in the rankings to make the big XII look stronger.    Miami owned them last night.

Tough loss.

What that game did last night is send a message to other Big XII schools, it said TAMU is suseptable to the Pass and Kansas is already licking their chops this year.

Matt

Yes, Matt. I'm really bummed about my aggies now. :'( It's very frustrating to know that we have the talent but a coach who doesn't use it productively. Not one time last night did we blitz or go man coverage (not once that I can remember). Our receivers were being dogged like white on rice by those Miami defenders. It never looked as adjustments were ever made to handle blitzes and pass rush until the end of the game (when it was too late). I really hope the high $$$ alumni can see the light this year and let Fran go. He's had enough time to make us better than we are.

Good luck vs. Rice tomorrow!!

What happened to y'all? Even I was disappointed.

I've seen that stare before that Fran has.......Its called the:

100 yard Mackovic!  :o
