Has anyone been paying attention to this?  250,000 people evacuated, including a hospital.  They're using the Charger's stadium as an emergency shelter.  This is bad news.  It's expected to last several days.

Hope all our members from that area are safe, and that their homes are out of harm's way.

That's awful!  Hope everyone is ok and can be evacuated safely.  I was afraid of something like this with the drought that's been happening.

This is sad, hope everyone from the area is ok. California always seems to be on fire for some reason.

I witnessed one of these first hand on my Cali visit last yr.  I was awe struck.  Robert and Guille were like,..."whatever"....

I was ready to start hosing the house,lol  I mean, sure it was a good 15-20 miles away but everything in between us was brown and dry.  I think they got a laugh out of me.

This one is quite a monster though.

I just got off the phone with my cousin. Him and his wife live in Trabuco Canyon. He said the fires are about five miles from their house, but the smoke is very thick. Right now they are OK, but they are getting important papers and some necessities together, just in case.

500,000 now evacuated last I heard.

Eldest son and daughter-in-law are OK so far but she was just found out to be pregnant last week with twins and the stress is causing some serious complications with the pregnancy in this early stage so we are Very worried for her and babies.

Hope everyone is ok and my prayers are with them. I sure hope it doesn't happen around Eastern NC, it is mighty dry and I don't think we would have

enough water to fight a fire of that magnitude.

My girlfriends brother lives down there and got evaced a couple days ago at 4 in the morning.  He only had 15 minutes to gather his crap.  Luckily the flames just missed his house.  He just moved down there because of a medical job where he is making some 80+ grand a year.

Fires have been to the north, south, and west of me for now. Closest have been Malibu and Castaic (both are 30+ miles from me). Anyone hear from Mattlures? From what I understand he is down in the San Diego area and that area has been hammered very hard. Hope all is well.

I am good. Fires all around my area but I am safe. My eyes burn and my throat is soar but I got a lot of work done becuase I was off work for 4 days. The sky is ugly!

Thanks for the concern there.  I've been so busy at work that I haven't had much time to run surf this place lately.

I'm like capt'n cali, the fires were 30 miles away from me but I did have to evacuate due to fires back in 02.

80% of the shore line and surrounding hills of one of my favorite lakes burnt down.  It's going to be pretty ugly when the rains come.
