Featured Replies

hi ive been fishing at a pond for about a week, catching alot of bass............they are in all sizes, the biggest was 16 inches that ive caught.

im bored of using plastic worms, so is there anything else that works good in shallow water?? its about 2-4 ft deep

and also, anyone know what to use to catch Coy?? these orange gigantic goldfish

LMK

thanks

JAMES

i have had a decent amount of success with a wakebait. if you are looking for a change, a storm subwart may be the thing you are looking for.

Cranks:

Storm Subwart

Bandit Footloose

Mann 's Baby 1 minus

Deps Buzzjet

Ima Roumba

Spinnerbaits:

Double colorado spinnerbaits create the most lift even at slow speeds

Buzzbaits

In-line spinners

Koi carp can be caught with doughbait or kernel corn.

everything that was said has been sound advice

however it seems to me that everyone misses over the little things that got us started

if most of your bass are of the smaller variety nothing beets the good old roostertail and original floating rapala

many variations and other brands out there but when i am in a tourney and the times are tough these are in my dummy box

Cranks:

Storm Subwart

Bandit Footloose

Mann 's Baby 1 minus

Deps Buzzjet

Ima Roumba

can't go wrong with shallow cranks or lip less cranks. you might even try a top water anything....popper, frog, spook

Harshman

I would add a jitterbug and a zaraspook to the list.

x2 on the floating Rapala

Everything listed above.

Additions to the crankbait list might be.......

Bagleys Small Fry, Norman fat Boy, Bomber Square A, Rapala DT

You might try swimming a 1/4 or 1/8 oz. jig.

You mentioned that you are tired of using plastic worms but have you used flukes? Hard to get tired of these unless you get tired of catching bass on them too.

Big O

I'm usually fishing shallow water from the bank and have had pretty good results with a Rapala DT3 Fat bumping it off trash and ripping it from grass. Two others to look at are the Sebile "Magic Swimmer" and, if you can get your hands on one, Jackall's GIRON. Both are fun to play with even if your not catching fish.
