Warmer than Average!

Featured Replies

Has anyone else had a warmer than average year?  By this time of year in Kentucky we should be holding in the mid to low 30's, but it has been in the mid to high 40's as long as I can remember.

Is there some sort of weather phenomenon going on that I'm not aware of?  I haven't paid that much attention to the news lately, but it has been warmer than average.

I can remember Christmas not too long ago, and we always had temps in the mid to low 20's on some occasions.

It's 74 in S.Florida as I type this, 1:35am.  Hi for Saturday is 83.  How's that for warm?  End of December and I've worn shorts and flip flops everyday for the last 10 months.

It has been beautiful and ugly in Richmond, Virginia.

A few days ago we had temps in the high 30s with rain and the wind-chill factor felt like the 20s.

I think our weather patterns are the same as in the past.  We did have another drought but that is caused by the water temperatures in the Pacific Ocean which change from year to year.

So, overall, no, I have not really noticed any warmer than average temps over here on the east coast.

And I like hot weather. The hotter, the better.

Nope, this time last year we could still get the boats in and fish, no hard water. And it was between 50-65* much of December last year.  We currently have 4 inches of slush/ice and more snow in Southern New England in 3 storms than we have had in the past few years, lol.

I know here for Orange we've been having some nice warm days and some cool days as well. It got up to 55 yesterday. Normally for Va, the coldness really comes January-March...

I guess here in New England it's still warmer than average, but much colder than last year.  Lakes didn't freeze up til the end of January last year, they've been frozen for over a month this year.

Last year I caught my PB largie on Jan 7th, the day after the freakish 70 degree day.  I'm hoping for a few of those this winter  :)

Our lows in Houston for the last week have been in the low 30s for several nights but warming to 65-70 during the day...I have had 4 of the last 7 days at or below freezing. Warms up quick though...Seems about normal. Four years ago Christmas day had 4-8 inches of snow around Houston. Three at my home...Actually the record snowfall for a 24 hr period in Houston was 22 inches back at the turn of the century...Glad I missed that one...

So,....what are you doing for lunch?  :)

I wish, It was in the fifties most all of last December and this year it has been averaging 30 since well before Thanksgiving. Must been an early Spring  ;)
