What's Your New Year's resolution

Featured Replies

Just wondering what everyone's New Year's resolutions were going to be.

Mine would have to be....

1. Get Stronger

2. Find a summer Job at a golf course

3. Catch a 5+ Bass

4. Have fun

Mines the following:

1.) Catch a new PB

2.) Learn to fish deep structure

3.) Finish my fishing rod rack that's been kept up in the shop for so long...

4.) Pour plenty of "Horny Toad" like frog lures, finesse worms and senko type lures of many different colors and combinations.

5.) Get a trailer for my jon boat!

1. Stop drinking so much Mt. Dew.

2. Start making jigs.

3. Start making jig trailers.

4. Fix my trailer bunk boards  ::).

1)  Work less hard.  Mediocrity pays just as well.   :)

2)  Stop cutting the grass so much, and fish more.

3)  Change tires on my boat trailer before they come off on the highway.

4)  Check the tire pressure on my cars more often.

5)  Not be so hard on my kids.

6)  Be a little harder on my wife  8-)

7)  Stop drinking so much Mt. Dew.

8)  Slow down on buying fishing tackle, and start wearing out what I

have.

9)  Try a Bagley crankbait.

10)  Buy a Glock .45 ACP.  I always wanted one.

  1.  Be a good father.

  2.  Look at life as a series of decisions and try to make the right one more often.

  3.   Finish in the top six in my bass club tournaments.

  4.   Feed the Bait Monkey!

Take a little break.

Fish no more than 20 tournaments including our club's 12

20 tourneys?!?!

1. Lose some of the 25+ pounds ive gained during my 1st semester at college.

2. Catch a tarpon

3. Imrove my grades a bit

I would say my top 3 are:

1. go fishing when ever possible.

20 tourneys?!?!

12 are club tournaments(one day), two top six qualifying tournaments,  a few big bass tournaments , and then several others that will require a couple of prefish days, no more fishing two  a weekend

Get back in shape

In 2006, I lost 56 pounds in about 45 days (March thru Mid April)

In 2007 7 I gained about 35 pounds back.

Fish more work less

I need to lose 20 lbs. ;D

I was fortunate to have an in length conversation with Muddy man one night where he explained the 12 steps of the 12 step program.  Although not an alcoholic or addict, there are some very good tools there that can help bring awareness to your faults and even better, guidelines on how to address them.  I plan to try and initiate some of those steps in my day to day dealings with others and myself.

I would say my top 3 are:

1. go fishing when ever possible.

2. catch a big one!

3. improve my fishing skills

;)

I'd love to help with that.  Although getting to meet you was indeed a treat, we never did fish together.

February, no excuses :)

I did that last year fishfordollars. Instead of a usually season I fished about 20 tourneys last year instead of a lot more and it was great. Going out and just fishing and trying to learn a new lake makes you a better fisherman. Also fishing the usual lakes you try different baits and patterns and you can figure out some things you would have never thought of before.

But this year, I'm going back to the grind ::)

Hey LBH, how about getting back on those 200's and heading up to SkiCountry, good resolution, lol. :)

Refuse to be a sex object  :-*

Break TN state record for Largemouth Bass...

                                   As Ever,

                                    skillet

BTW What the Hell, none of the rest of them worked either...

In no particular order.

1. Drink less Mountain Dew ( I'm starting to see a trend here)

2. Lose a little weight

3. FIND A JOB

4. Attend Mook School to sharpen my skills so I can defeat the evil autocracy next year. :P

1. Put some one else on to fishing the way BR has done for me.

2. New PB

3. Go to the dentist (I hate the dentist)

4. Get a check up from the doctor.

1. Drink less "Mountain Dew", if that's what we're calling it nowadays  ;)

2. Catch a LMB 7.5 lbs + (difficult in CT), and a smallie 5 lbs +

3. Lose 35-40 lbs by July 1st (otherwise I lose a bet...)

4. Religiously track and record every fishing outing I go on (I totally slacked off with that this year)

5. Buy a boat.

there are some others that I won't mention, but I have a lot to do in 2008  ;)

Mine is about the same as gidget.

I also like to be a very consisent fisherman.

This is the year I vow to fish harder then ever before and use every single bait in my aresenal and make the best of 'em.

My non fishing resolution would be to graduate in may from high school and get a good job afterware.

Lose 35 pounds and learn how to sleep on a regular basis.

I say the same thing every year.  The 35 pounds thing is a good possibility, the sleep thing I have been doing the past 36 years.
