Mods,

I noticed that we had 361 users on the site at one time.

However, the count also illustrates a maximum of 111 members and 126 guests at two other times but not together on the same day.

If we retain the 111 maximum members and the 126 maximum guests as the two maximums, then we know that yesterday the most members we can have is 110 and the most guests are 125 or the maximum numbers would have changed.

So how can we get up to 361 users without changing the other maximum numbers?

There are 126 missing people.

Just checking.

Thanks.

MY HEAD HURTS FROM THIS ONE

A little cabin fever setting in?

I'm not sure that I understand the question, but as far as I know, there is no "maximum" number of users that can be online at the same time.

Is there a maxium number of MOOKS allowed on at any given time? ;D

I think it has something to do with that new "Search Engines Online" counter.

Before this feature, the maximum number of users online was right around where your math is.

If you add in those search engines, it comes up to meet the higher number.

I doubt i explained that like it sounds in my head, but thats the best I can put into text.

Sorry LOL

As a reference, there are approx 308 "users" online currently.  I believe this includes members, guests and whatever those "search engine" numbers are.

Do I count as a MOOK?  I am rocking the shirt right now, after all.  Yeah...I'll count myself in as a MOOK.

You def be da mook 8-)

Speedbead's got it right.  We do this now to ACCURACTLY reflect the actual human visitors to the site.

Other sites don't do this, and instead include search engine visits in their counts.  I've seen Yahoo have upwards of 200 bots at one time on this site.  Include the other engines, and that's alot.  So some other fishing site might say they have 250 users on the site, when the reality is, only 10-15 of them are humans.

We clearly break out how many human visitors vs. crawlers/bots/spiders etc. are on the site so there's nothing hidden from you.  Collectively, they're the total users at one time.

Thanks, Glenn.

All Mooks are included which makes me happy.

Glenn, the quality of this site would be greatly improved if you could install a Mook filter.  ;D
