Getting Back into fishing (tackle advise)

Featured Replies

Hey guys, getting back into fishing. Wondering your advise on tackle and colors (I live in MA). I have fished since I was a kid and have been out of it for 3 or 4 years. Looking to get back into it steadily (3-4 Times a week). Any help would be great. Average Spender.

Give us your favorite style of fishing BassnewB and maybe the type of water you expect to fish, and the group can elaborate a little more to help you get in the groove. Oh, and welcome to the Forum    8-)

Great Site there like the TOP 10 a lot.  Mostly clear water nothing too murky...mix of small mouth and large mouth and mostly working the shore line from the water.

That's good your getting back into fishing.  If I were you i'd buy one of everything in every color.  A fisherman can never be too prepared.

As far as brands you'll get ton's of answers from everybody so here is mine with my favorite colors

Jigs - Jewel's Eakins Jigs - PB+J

Crankbaits - Norman - Shad

Plastics - *.com

Hooks - Owner or Gammakastu

Jerkbait (Slashbait) - Rapala X-rap

Just some basic lures there, but start out with that and see what happens.  I'm sure some more guys will pitch in with some really great info.  Good luck!!!! ;D

The top three lures that give me results in MA are senko worms(watermelon color), Rapalas and the Jitterbug.
