MEAT RECALL and HUNTERS

Featured Replies

Well Fellas: Lets see if PETA goes after an area where some attention needs to be paid. I have never hunted, having grown up in the heart of Brooklyn,. Now that I have lived in NE Pennsylvania I had an interest in starting. After mt Bariatric bypass i thought the wieight loss would have allowed me, but it would be very dangerous to my health. Literally all my friends hunt, and they are all etical outdorrsman.

My ex wife ( vegatarian) was all over me, how can you do that? Well it seems that someone who actually goes into the woods, hunts his own meat, drags it out and butchers it is being a lot more honest and ethical than someone who is eating a hamburger made from a sick cow who was dragged across a platform with a fork lift, among other horrible things that video showed.

That was some pretty nasty stuff on the tv. A lot of that they would not have had to do.

Our school got some of that bad meat.

I think they could have handled the situation better.

Did you know.........

Muddy you should come down this way some spring or fall I think you would really like hunting alot.     Never be afraid to try new things

Hey I would love hunting. I started going out scouting with my friends I was able after a while to ID a rub, couldnt get the scrape thing together and we were able to see some nice bucks still in velvet.

I still have some problems with diabetes and i have an irregular heart rythym. Sitting in a boat is one thing but tree stands ( which is how most of my friends hunt) and draggin game outta the woods is beyond my phsical capabilities. I have been the official cook for the fellas for a couple of years though.

Hunting is fun Muddy.  You should try it.  I don't go a lot but when I do I love every minute of it.  Even just walking around in the woods is relaxing for me.  ;)

You come hunt on my farm, you wouldn't have to drag a thing.  Or climb a tree.   ;)

You should try hunting the way I do - with a camera and telephoto lens.

You should tandem hunt.  We take turns running the video camera.  It's a blast and you have 2 guys to split the work load, both pre and post hunt.  I think it's more fun than solo, it's certainly safer and easier with a buddy.

We had muddy down in Texas already.    He did some hunting didn't he?

Wasn't he hunting for the left button?   LOL

Actually Matt you helped me a  lot on that trip when you said: Don't look at the whole lake, pick a spot similar to what I usually fish and fish that one area, Long Mike was already on to that and when we went out together and did that FISH IN THE BOAT, Mike even let me work the trolling motor ::)

That girl next door better close her curtains. ;D

Muddy,  Huntings a real relaxing time.  I really enjoy just sitting out in the woods watching the animals.  If I see a good deer so be it.  If not no big deal I just enjoy the peace and quiet.

Squrrel hunting is a good time too and fun.  Dont be afraid to small game hunt.

I wouldn't eat squirrell, so I won't kill anything I was not going to eat. with the exception of OSAMA BE LADEN

Oh, I could have so much fun with this thread, but I'm afraid Miss Priss would delete my post, which he will probably do anyway.

Tin, if you lived in my neighborhood, the last thing you would want to do is look at the girl next door.  No one but Old Farts as far as the eye can see.

They all get prettier at closing time,, hahahaha

Actually Muddy, deer and elk meat is in the same category as turkey and fish as far as the cholesterol levels and fats.  It is actually quite good for you.  After my mom had her open heart surgery, the doctor told her she had to quit eating red meat (meaning beef)  however, she could continue to eat all the elk and deer meat she wanted, since it would not hurt her...  so if you get the chance, go out and hunt,, or go along... I do not know about others,, but in my camp, every one that comes to camp and helps out, even as a cook, gets an equal share of the meat.
