A farewell to one of the greats...

Featured Replies

i really was wishing he would come back for one more year (at least) after the run they made this year.

Brett is a true football player that people can look at and say, that man enjoyed playing football.  I never saw someone have so much fun at his age, playing a game where he got hit by guys twice his size.

Yes, he was a nemesis for my Seahawks, but I respected him and his game.  He played hurt, he played in good times and bad.  He will be missed, not many athletes like him today.

Plus, he admitted to having an addiction, and beat it... that right  there makes him a greater person than a football player

Few men have a greater love for the sport the Brett ;)

Lighten up, please. This thread is a tribute to a man that I think everyone who loves the game respects. Start another thread titled "The Greatest Quarterbacks" or something along that line if you like, but this thread has been edited to stay on topic.

Sorry Kent,  :-[

Since I don't see my "defense of Brett Favre" post anymore, apparently I was part of that "flame war".

Back on topic, I liked what one Packer fan said on ESPN this morning:

"We've been with him (Favre) for 17 years now. . ." not "He's been with us. . .".

That's a credit to his influence there in Green Bay.   8-)

Great quarterback. Lions could have used him back in the Barry Sanders days. Well still need a QB.
