You guys are making my eyes water by just talking about this.  I'm a real sissy when it comes to hot sauce.  It's all about the mild and medium taco bell sauce for me.

The burn on exit isn't fun sometimes.

Seems to be lots of Hot Sauce conossieurs on the forum...maybe you guys can help me out then. About two years ago the wife and I were in an actual shop that contained nothing but hot sauces. They had everything arranged from least hottest to instant blisters.

The last one on the shelf was a small wooden crate probably four by four inches. Inside was a small bottle about three inches high that contained a medicine dropper. The guy showed us how hot this stuff really was. He put one drop in a small dish of salsa and stirred it up. There was a brave man standing there who proceeded to barely dip a chip in and take a bite. It immediatly took his breath and he started hyper-ventilating.

My wife loves hot stuff and dipped a toothpick in the salsa and it left blisters on her tongue. I tasted the toothpick after she had already tasted it and it blistered my tongue. :o

My question is, what in the hell was this stuff? Anyboby know? If it helps I think it cost around $35.00 for that small bottle and the liquid was clear.

nitroglycerin ;D

edit: must be pure Capsaicin

any of these? http://www.chez-williams.com/Hot%20Sauce/hothome.htm

I'll bet that was it.  I am almost positive that the ingredient started with a "C".  I was thinking camphor but didn't want to put that because I figured it was wrong.  Man, it was some hot stuff.  I am not kidding, instant blisters!!!

Tobasco on just about anything

Frank's Red Hot if there's no Tobasco(doesn't happen often)

Tobasco Chipotle great on chicken

Homemade that noone else will eat.

Louisiana Gold.

Find it and give it a try.

1.Texas Pete-goes on anything that was once alive

2.Tabasco-shrimp,or when Texas Pete is not doing anything

3.homebrew-almost afraid to try, but it does look pretty good.
