Soft jerk-baits?

I've never used flukes or Slugos before and thought I'd buy some to try them out, but i dunno how to rig them or fish them.

I've almost always fished them weightless. Jerk-pause-jerk is a good way to start out. After the jerk, leave a little slack in the line, as the slack allows the bait to dart erratically. Use a hook with a wide enough gap so there's room for the hook to get through the plastic and penetrate the fish's jaw.

If you're fishing weeds, let the bait drop into holes or at the edges. Be a line-watcher and if you see the line moving off, set the hook.

Good luck, these are great baits!

Rig the Slug-Go weightless. I prefer a 4/0 or 5/0 Round Bend Hook, but they can be fished on Offset Worm Hooks, too.  Play with the bait in clear water for awhile so you can see the lure's action. I like to twitch the bait so that it immitates feeding minnows.

I love fishing flukes. I tie on a medium sized barrel swivel with a 12 to 18 inch leader to a 4/0 wide gap hook. Anyone else use this method, or am I screwing up by adding the swivel??

Just caught a PB for spinning gear with Zoom Super Fluke. Just use spinning gear for flukes (3/0 or 4/0 EWG hooks) weightless. They do tend to put twist in your line. Some folks like vb said use swivels, haven't tried them that way. Great bait ;)...

I tie mine on with a rapala knot.

Everyone said weightless... ill go a little further... texas rigged weightless. Oh and btw, the slit is the belly of the bait, not the top.
