I'm looking for a new camera and I was wondering what everyone uses out on the water?

I use a Fujifilm S700.  I love it!  Takes great pics and video (30 fps)

I have a Kodak z700, it's not a bad little camera. Here is a pic i took at the lake Sunday morning.

I have an Olympus Stylus 300. It's a very nice camera. My only problem is I always forget to bring it with me.

Glad a thread like this was made. I am looking into buying my own digital camera some time soon. However I don't know much about digital cameras. I will be lurking in this thread.

The one I take fishing with me is a Kodak DX4330 which is an easy click and shoot camera.  It was my first digital camera that I now use for fishing and let my daughter use when we go out on family outings.  My other camera which is a Kodak P712 which has more bells and whistles.  This camera allows you to have more control.  

For those looking to buy a camera, take into consideration your budget, the use of the camera and your experience with a camera.  Do some research on cameras, then go out and handle them at the store.  

My recommendation for the point and shoot camera which is great to take along with you fishing are the canon powershot family line.  I would check one out at local store to see which one fits you.  They are compact which makes them easy to carry.  

The Canon S5 gets my vote for the best bang for the buck camera.  It has most of the features and quality of a high end SLR.  It also has the ability to shoot some nice quality video.

If you want more manual control in an inexpensive camera that takes great pictures, get the Fuji S700/S5700.  I wouldn't spend anymore on a point n shoot when you can get a DSLR kit for $460.

The Canon Powershot series cameras are the way to go. Any of the powershot cameras are the best for your money. tons of features and still really easy to use. Batteries last a long time also.

I just got a Casio last christmas.  My ex gf bought it for me in december, I think it was like 300 dollar camera, then she broke up with me in January!  Not to smart on her part but hey Ill take it.  I also got a deer stand, golf lessons a and trip to New York and Utah and Washington D.C.   over the past few years we were together.  I think I made out pretty good!  She is with a "Metrosexual" now down in austin, LOL!  I think I was too much man for her, so she got one that was like half a man!  What you guys think?

Ditto.  I have a Canon powershot (A650 I think).  It has served us pretty well.

I wish I could photoshop well enough to make my avatar bigger. I wouldnt but it'd be nice to screw with other pics.

I have several digital cameras. The one I take fishing is a mini-DV video camera that does videos on tape and stills on SD cards. It has a remote control so I can take pictures of fish with me holding them. I just set the camera up on a homemade monopod that I have attached to the transom of my jon boat, turn the screen towards me to compose the picture and take the picture with the remote control. When I fish in my bass boat, I use a regular camera tripod held on the back deck with strong bungee cords.

Don't cheap out.  Buy something with quality glass.  Nikon, Fuji or Canon.

I've been using a Canon A720is for the last 6 months, could not be happier with it.

Stick with an intermediate optical zoom (5-8x).  

I recommends a Canon Powershot SD400.  Great camera for the price.  When I got mine it was about $400.00.  But now you can find one for around $80.00 on Ebay.  Very small, light, and long battery life, from a rechargeable battery (saves money).  All these pictures on my website were taken with this camera.
