NASCAR on TNT

Featured Replies

Is it just me or does anyone else think TNT's coverage of the races just flat out sucks.   I mean they have comercials running during the race and you can't hear whats going on with the race while there airing them.  Then when they go back your playing catch up.   Then the umpteen million other regular comercial breaks.   TNT has to go it just isn't enjoyable to even watch anymore.   I have the Coke 400 on the DVR and I have not even watched the whole thing yet it gets agrivating to watch and I have turn it off.    It just sucks

I kind of liked how they would still show the race in the background while running commercials.  I didn't think they took all that many commercial breaks, but I did not watch the entire race.

The coverage is still not as good as Fox's though.  Fox has the best sports presentations IMO.

I was watching the prerace when Kyle Petty was driving the pace car and when he said "This is the first time I've led anything in twenty years" I about lost it, I thought that was pretty funny.

I thought my Miller Lite Dodge might pull one out but that was a great finish.

I also like how they still show the race during commercials.

I also agree fox has the best sports presentations. I just don't like the whole hour pre race. So I watch speed tvs pre race. I don't care if tnt as the adds on while the race is going. ESPN dose that from time to time when indy is racing. Speed and fsn are the only places I go for my sports or racing news. They don't seem like they make a bid deal over small things. I rember smoke did some thing last year or this year. ESPN made a big deal over it. I belive they talked about it for over 20 minns. So I watched speed all week to find out what they were talking about. I didn't hear any thing other then smoke wanting out of toyota.

Drove me nuts! Every 3 minutes some dumb commercial came up and every time they did it someone wrecked or the lead changed and half the time they didnt even say anything.

Plus, without boogity boogity boogity it just isnt the same

In my opinion TNT rules over Fox's coverage. I really hate DW and his boogity boogity boogity. TNT seems to cover each driver better than Fox and not single in on Jeff, Tony, Jimmy and Dale. I also hate the guy in the garage area and the cut away car. ( " Hey guys when they said he had a flat tire this is what they meant, if you look at the ford cutaway car. This here is a tire and when it goes flat ............ yadayadayada.) That is my distaste for Fox.

Cover the race, not just the top 5 drivers, and don't insult my intelligence on a car.

those are fighting words

I agree, also if it were not for the commercials, then you would be watching you races on pay per view and paying around $50-75 bucks per race intstead of the monthly cable rate to get TNT.

Its amazing how some people forget how a TV station makes its money to pay their bills..

Any Nascar coverage is better than none..

As much as I hate Digger the Gopher and the Crank It Up gimmick, I much prefer Fox's NASCAR coverage.  Those ol' boys act like they are enjoying what they are doing.

The guys on TNT are about as animated and interesting as an accountant doing someone's taxes.

Hey Jeremy: Boogity, boogity, boogity!!!   ;D

I dont mind the commercials when they take a break. What got on my nerves about that race that TNT hadnt done before was filling up the bottom right quarter of the screen with a commercial that took over the sound. They seemed to do it about every 3 minutes or so, and then every 15 laps they took a 90 minute break. There were more commercials than actual race time and they never paused or stopped a commercial when a wreck or something happened. Id rather have a commercial every 15-20 laps on Fox with a recap every time they came back than that.

bill weber drives me nuts. id rather listen to a belt sander.

I prefer FOX as well.  TNT's coverage is just too disruptive with the in race commerncials and regualr commercials.  I really do enjoy Kyle Petty though.

I would gladly pay $25 per race to NOT listen to Darrell Waltrip.

Lest we all forget, NASCAR is the fastest growing sport in the world.  I think Fox strikes a good balance between educating the newbies and keeping us regulars entertained.
