Lots of people I suppose.

I am not a Yankees fan by any means (in fact quite the opposite), but I think it's a shame they are going to tear down that piece of baseball history.

With the new stadium they might be able to outspend the #2 payroll team by $150 million, as opposed to the usual $100 million per year.

A piece of Americana will soon be gone and all you can do is bad mouth. I feel sorry for you people.

I personally hate the NYY being a Red Sox fan and all. They did their fans and former players a great service with the way they closed out that stadium. What I will never understand is how, who ever does the scheduling, doesnt have the last home game at Yankee Stadium the last game of the season, and have it be between the Yankees and Red Sox.

As for stadiums, does anyone have what the new stadium will seat for fans? I think the old stadium would hold approx 60K people. With that many people sellouts werent always a given. I mean in contrast Fenway Park can only hold about 38K people, and have the active sellout streak record at 400+ in a row.

So exactly how many games before the Mets choke on the WC race?

BassnBlvd, You see the old Miami stadium gettin' torn down the other morning?? It was a pretty cool demolition!

I *** those who get to demolish the place.  Hell, I'd pay $50 for 15 minutes with the wrecking ball.

I'd pay 50 to push the T handle down and watch the boomers.

The wrecking ball would be fun too.  OOPS sorry about that import. ;D

I hate the Yankees, but I respect them.  Yankee Stadium is a big part of the history of baseball.  I hate to see it go.

...I hope this doesn't give people ideas about Fenway. :-/

Fenway and Wrigley are next.

They need a new city too.

Yes, although not a Yankee fan as well, it is sad to see it go.  I've always wanted to go to a game there.  The house that Ruth built. . . RIP!  :'(

Take a chill pill YANK>

All those ex Yankees - where was Roger?

It won't happen with Fenway for a long time, politically too complicated, although it sounds like there might have been some shenanigans to get the new Yankee stadium built.
