Teachers Busted With Drugs

PERMISSIVE SOCIETY.

ERODING MORALS.

My opinion: If they are doing drugs on or off the property, they ARE poor teachers. It gives me a hint of there personal choices and charactors. I do not want them teaching my kids. Thats all I have to say about that.

I don't understand how people can say it is OK if it does not affect their teaching abilities.  It is against the law!  These teachers who are teaching the kids are criminals breaking the law.  They should be tested just like any other place of work that does random drug testing.  Ever hear of drug free work places!?  I do not want drug users around my kids!

Here in Houston we have had fifteen teachers and staff busted with drugs in their cars during school hours within the last two weeks. The teachers association has declared that drug testing all the teachers would be an invasion of their rights. Is it me or should we not have the right to test anyone teaching our children? Anyone else having this problem at their schools?

Sad part is they announced that the drug dogs would be checking out all of the cars in the parking lots and the idiots are still hauling the drugs to school. If I am out of line on this just let me know. It sucks for the kids that want an honest education and for the parents to have to send their kids to any school like that.

Thanks for letting me rant.

HAAAAAAAAAA  invasion of there rights i drive a school bus i get drug checked before school starts, randomly, just cause and after any accident my fault or not ,teachers around here average  45 tho i make maybe 3/4 of that and i also have a CDL and any traffic ticket i get wether drivin the bus or my own personal vehicle  has a impact on my imployment also no more then 3 points even speeding over 15 mph gets me fired.Teachers are over paid and under worked obvoisly if they have time to bring drugs to school

Gezzz I don't know where you live and work but in most places teachers are under paid and overworked. You going to condemn a whole profession because of a couple of jerks? This problem is being addressed daily in major cities, it is just starting to come to light in rural areas. Here at Job Corps , every job on site, from maintenance workers to transportation to residence and teaching and voc instructors have to pass drug screening to get the job and are subject to random testing  and random vechile searches EVERYONE AND EQUALLY, since I have been here and that is for 13 years, and that's the way it should be. We care for the most precious commodity, Kids and we should all be responsible to be drug free.

The only people who ever seem to mind this are the people who get high in the first place.

I think he was making a point.

Maybe they just went to their dealer that morning and didn;t have time to go home and stash it in their dressers... ::) ;D

Seriously, this just adds to my impression and thoughts on how high school is becoming more and more of a joke. In my high school they just wanted to pass you so you could move on and get out of their hands. Some school systems around here are "raising the bar" for some students to graduate but not others. Just pass four years of English, Algebra 2, intro to Chem, U.S. History 1 and 2, and you graduate. And if you have to take these classes as a senior, they put you in a class with a joke of a teacher so there is pretty much no way you can fail as long as you show up half the time.

Then they wonder why so many kids who graduate from their school system drop out mid-way through their first year of college. Half the kids that I graduated with that were in the top 5% out of the 440 kids in my graduating class are not even in college anymore, quite sad. They will make you believe you are smarter than you really are, then bam. Reality knocks them on their butts.

prescription drugs that they had no script for.

That's the scariest stuff around in my book. Right up there with heroin and such. You want to talk about addictive, nothing like prescription pain killers.

Agreed, I suffered an Opiate Addiction due to prescription painkillers roughly 10 years ago due to a severe lower back injury, in turned knocked me out of my passion for the game of golf, I played that game for over 30 years. Pain killers are no joke and I can attest to that.

I went through knee surgury this summer past and suffered severly through the pain, and took nothing because I was afraid of what may have become of me again. I joke of it often, only because its behind me. A few beers now and then but other then that Im done.

I've been clean for almost 8 now, pretty much since my daughters birth, and if I want to get high I take her fishing!

It doesnt get any better then this.

Bravo, well said ArcticCat500

I'm prejudice when it comes to all forms of drugs, I have not seen anything good come from it. A surrvivor or wanna be surrvivor(someone that wants to quit and knows it but is in to far deep and needs help) knows the dangers of all drugs regardless if they are considered innocent ones.

The innocent ones are just as or more dangerous than the big ones, cause the little ones get you started.

For those that have chosen and have common sense to not try them, cudos to you, but I will say from experiance all form of drugs are a bad. Believeing Pot is ok is immature thinking.

As a person in recovery and a person who has worked on my own addictions and with the addictions of others, that is one misguided statement. No one can get me high, no one can get me clean, I made a consistent and conscious choice to use drugs, other kids in the same circumstance as I was chose not to use drugs. The idea that one person can get another to use is archaic and wrong, very wrong.

either your clean or you use, there is no middle ground. If I drink a beer, I am using a drug, is a drug , is a drug.

Muddy,

By "innocent ones", I think he was referring to so called gateway drugs, not people.

I gotcha!

Sorry, I think anyone using, selling running, etc. drugs of any kind needs to be punished. It is not a victimless crime. Pot might seem innocent enough but there are hundreds/thousands of murders, including children, and beheadings in the drug wars in Mexico just for the right to transport this stuff into the states. To say nothing of the other innocent people who are robbed of money and possessions because of illegal drug use. Sorry, bust 'em!
pot heads are harmless i know a few this dont mean i endorse it but pot usaully leads to other drugs much more serious crack/coke/meth/ not always but usaully BTW pot really does destroy brain cells

That's obvious

:D that was like 20 yrs ago i think they growdid bak buy now

I gotcha!

Yea thats exactly what I meant, The so called " NOT SO BAD DRUG " is the one that introduces you to the high experiance, sooner or later you need to get higher, so stronger is higher.

As for the myth of "Drugs are yucky and you won't like them" teaching this to kids doesn't work and is miss leading in MY OPPINNION. exspecially when kids love to prove they know more than a grown up.

I remember my first few times of doing drugs, heck I fealt great, it reinforced my thought that my family didn't know what the heck they was talking about, this drug thing was great, and I liked it.

sadly it took time to see the truth about it, but as a parent myself I won't ignore the truth. to my kids, The battle will be  YOU WILL LIKE IT, its teaching them the stand point of what they will do to you and your loved ones, it turns your world and thiers up side down.

This drug thing sucks :( >:(

its a huge battle that seems we are slowly losing :'(

we all know tellin kids not to do anything makes them more curious and persistant to do it ,its starts very young when they start crawling they can have a million toys on the floor but insist they need to grab cords or fishing rods and the reason they do this is cause we talk to um by sayin NO they get a kick out of that word and use it for attention rugrats are really slick and fast

Totally disagree, a harmless dope smoker incouraged me to take my first hit off a dooby(what I called'em back then) at a skating rink parking lot, "Aw one hit won't hurt ya" A harmless dope smoker thinks he's hiding it well from his kids, they don't have to be a violent person, but they are dangerous none the less.

They are victims themselves, I cannot forget that, but I will not call a pot head harmless, ever see a pothead jonesen?? They'll do what it takes to get high. I know from experiance. :(
