If you were going to get 6 buzzbaits (2 of each as buying only one of each isn't an option), what size(s) and color choices would you choose?  

Would you mix it up with a couple of each size?

Would you buy only 1 color but in each size?

Or would would buy all the same size and in 3 colors?

Fish size range to about 6 pounds, and includes a mixture of smallmouth as well if that matters.

Well, I have four of the 1/4 oz Cavitrons Buzzbaits and six of the 3/8 oz,

two duplicates and four different color combinations. So far I have

only fished the 3/8 oz Black on Black...

It's been working pretty well.  :

The Cavitron I have been using has been bent a couple of times.

I have it "almost" fixed to the configuration of a new lure, but I

didn't get a strike last time out which is a first. So, should I toss

this one and start fresh or keep fishing the "experienced" lure?

Note: The Cavitron still appears to perform as it did right out of the

package and the "chirping" is still there, I just have reservations.

What would you do?

I agree with keeping it simple. All my buzzbaits are white or black, and 3/8 size.

Roadwarrior, do you fish your black on black exclusively on overcast days or clear days also?

Just bend the wireing til it runs true- There is no need to throw it away. Make sure the wires are in line with the hook and head.

I have been fishing the 3/8 oz black on black every morning I'm out if there is a breeze. I know black is usually considered a nighttime color, but it has worked for me so well, I have not fished another color.

i think it is more of a budget question.

of course you could use the one that is factory till you get bit, so you know they are eating, and then switch up to the other just to see if it will still produce.

I have 2 that have been bent 2 to 3 dozen times and even darn near straightened out from using braid and they are just starting to look downright ugly but the fish keep trying to kill them.Frankly I am shocked the frames havent snapped.Excellent product!

Bassfin-I have had cavitrons blasted by large -pike-musky- salt water stripers you name it. I laugh when I look at them . I bend them back to shape and keep fishing. I dont know if its me but the worse they look the more fish I catch with them. I have cavitrons that are 5 years old. Beat to hell and they are the ones I tie on first. HMMM $5.95 per cavitron - 5-6 years of use. Thats about a buck a year to lease if I dont lose it-hundreds of fish-wow could be pennys a fish . Cant beat that for excitement- LOL Just fishn' Thanks buddy

I like the 1/4 oz in white for most of the time, but black works well also. I'll throw a 3/8 oz in the same color if the wind is blowing.
