I feel free...

No I did not join a nudist colony and yes I have boxers on under my jeans. But today I went against family history. The past four generations of Broggi males suffer from baldness. All of which have had comb-overs like that of Roy Munson in Kingpin by age 40. Well my hair-line started fading about a year ago and today I got sick of it. I buzzed it as low as it will go. Feels great to say the least.

And this thread would not be complete if I didn't finish with, _____ love my new haircut. If they don't, well, most of you should know the rest.

You're just more aerodynamic now.   ;)

I buzzed my hair 10 years ago and never looked back. Go buy a good set of clippers and you'll never have to go to the barber again.

I had a friend who also decided to shave his head, not too long after that,  he has never had a more uncomfortable sunburn  ;)

Between the new prop on the Stratos and my head I might touch 66-67. ;D

I always load up with the SPF 50 anyway because skin cancer is bad in my family. But for some reason I got lucky and have darker skin than my parents. (UPS mans kid?). I was thinking to load up then alternate an hour on and hour off with the hat when I'm in the boat tomorrow.

My 3 year old grandson is going to start chemotherapy next week. Maybe I'll shave my head in solidarity with him. . . Maybe not.

I'm not losing any hair (knock on wood) but I keep my hair cut with a pretty short buzz (#3).

slomoe is right, if you get your own set of clippers you can cut your own hair pretty easy if you wear a buzzcut. I started cutting my own hair last year and I've probably saved hundreds of dollars already.

I just got a #2 cut today. My head feels much lighter.  :o

I'll buzz my hair once or twice a year.  It does feel great, especially if its grown out.  My general cut is a #2 fade to finger length.  In my late 20s, my hairline receded above my temples, but stopped there.  I'm 37 now, and haven't lost anymore, though e few are gray, LOL.

Just use a Fusion and get it over with.

You know, you would kind of look like Roy Munson with a combover.

Number 2 once a week whether I need it or not. Hair line receded to the back of my neck.

And you are correct Tin, it is freeing.

'they say' that baldness comes from your mother's father........... I am sooooo screwed...... but i still have hair at the moment.

"we don't own a milk cow, Roy, that's a bull"........... ;D

I've heard that too but my mom's dad went bald in his early twenties. I am 22 and I haven't seen an recession at all.

As far as cutting your own hair, it gets more complicated when you start doing different lengths but if you just stick to the same length for the whole head then it's incredible easy.

I don't think there is an "i lost mine just like he lost his clause" My overall hair looks just like my dad's. High hairline, etc. My grandpa lost his hair in his early twenties. (i'll be thirty this year) My hair is thinning slightly in the front; my dad's is still growing strong. Maybe i'll split the difference and lose all mine by 40......or maybe not. Don't know. :)

Nah, it is exactly the same. If my mom's dad went bald when he was 20, I am safe because I am 22. That's the way it is. I'm safe. No reason to worry.  :-/

This thread is useless without pics.

Back in the 70s I was paired with the late Billy Westmoreland in a bass tournament.  When my name was drawn to be Billy's non-boater the organizer told me, "Now Dick, don't say nothin' about Billy's hair.  It got blowed off in the war and he's kinda sensitive about it."
