Going back for the hawg?

Featured Replies

Good morning! This is my first post here so thanks for having me! Last night I was fishing a tree top that had fallen in the water in the river. I was working a Zara Spook through the top and a monster largemouth nailed it. Within seconds, he had shaken the hook and left me with that empty feeling. My question is... how long should I wait til I return since I have him located?... and, should I try the spook or something different? Thanks.

How Y'all Are?  :)

Any time you miss a bass on top water immediately follow up with a weightless worm

Thanks man.  I have never done that, but I hear that is the trick.  However, I usually throw the same topwater after a miss and more times than not, the bass continue to hit it until they are hooked (this bass actually missed it twice before he got a mouthful).  Going back to where I have located this bass, do you think I should use the spook again or something different?  He may remember that spook had hooks!

By the way, is that weightless worm a trick worm?

Weightless worms are the way to go man!! Texas rig em' with no weight.  :)

By the way, is that weightless worm a trick worm?

I imagine that would work.  However, the standard answer at this forum is a Gary Yamamoto 5 inch Senko or a Gary Yamamoto Fat Ika rigged with the skirt up.   :)

The bass don't care which worm, the bass believe they have killed whatever was on the surface and engulf it as it falls.
