Zoom fluke or super fluke, which do you prefer and why??  Or do you use both??  

I have a buddy who got me into the fluke and it's awesome in the summer around stumps and rocks.  But he says he hates the super fluke, says it doesn't even resemble a baitfish so he just doesn't use it.  I'm wondering if they swim or sink any differently than the fluke, they look heavier.

neither does the spinnerbait, buzzbait, etc. but they seem to fool plenty of fish.  How many plastics really look like real stuff?  Only a few that I know of.

I use the super flukes almost all the time.  The only times I'll use the smaller flukes is on a c-rig for deep finicky fish.  I have no trouble catching lots of LMB and SMB on super flukes.  Even small fish tear it up.

Super flukes cast extremely well and have great action if hooked and worked properly.

Ditto to Flechero. Who cares what they look like, they catch fish!! I use the Super Fluke only, and probably use Bass Assassins even more, but they're the same size as the Super Fluke.

Have always used Super Flukes (haven't tried Flukes) and like them in watermellon seed for color. To my way of thinking :-?they sure look like a wounded baitfish...

I love the flukes but to resemble a baitfish the only thing I think does is itself the baitfish

Lunker City offers the Fin S Fish  (Fluke) in 2.5", 4", 5", 5 3/4" and 7".  I love the random, erratic, spazzy type action of these things and they are what I've stuck with.  I'll try some Super Flukes this summer and see how I like them.

A nifty alternative is the Producto Buzz Tail Shad.  My son has caught a lot of fish on these and they are easy for him to fish with the straight retrieve method.

Flukes look INCREDIBLE in the water. To me, it resembles a fish a lot more then the majority of baits out there.

  I love the super fluke. I'm going to try the Magnum fluke soon.

I use super flukes a decent amount, work particularly well for pickerel, but I do get bass on them here and there. The super fluke Jr works really well on sight fishing, especially for dinks.

I have never used the Zoom Fluke for freshwater, but I do know this style bait (fin-s) works pretty well in saltwater. The bubblegum or bubblegum ice color works great on a jighead for weakfish. Same with the 4inch fluke (I think thats the length) on a jighead for summer flounder aka fluke, I like White when targeting fluke. Majority of the time I'll tip the fluke on a jighead with a killie or spearing when targeting fluke, but they will work without any bait.

Ps. When fluking I usually prefer a 3inch Twister tail grub in white, yellow, or chartruese on a jighead tipped with a killie or spearing over a fluke on a jighead tipped with killie/spearing...just a side note.

I haven't used anything but a Super Fluke. I think they look great in the water.

What size hook is that you are using?  Do you fish it like a crank bait?

The hook is a Falcon Lures Bait-Jerker 5/0 and the weight is 3/32 oz. I use that for getting deeper than 10'. For shallower presentations I use the same hook but lighter weight 1/32 oz.

I also have some H & H Flutter Hooks in 5/0 and 1/8 oz with the same style hook.

For the Magnum Super Fluke , I use the 6/0 and 3/32 oz.

I use it just like an unweighted Fluke-underwater jerk-bait.

Baby Flukes are my favorites.

I love Super Flukes rigged weightless on a 4/0 EWG offset Gamakatsu hook.  The action these things display when "jerked" is amazing.  They dart through the water erratically and, when paused, they slide into the depths the way a dying shad might.

My buddies and I have been absolutely slaying bass with Super Flukes lately.

Tried some Super Flukes, tonight, for the first time, (Green Pumpkin) T-rigged weightless with a Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG red hook.

It was some tough fishing as another heavy storm had gone trough about 3 hours before. This is the fourth straight day of severe thunderstorms, in Mid-Ohio.

As it was, I caught three bass in about 45 minutes, all on the super fluke.  I lost four more before getting them into shore. I was really impressed with the action of these lures.  I can't wait to use them again.

We normally use a regular fluke with a 3/0 EWG hook, and the bait is just nosehooked from one side to the other so that the entire body is free to flex and wiggle in the water as we swim it weightless over stumps or rocks. Bass come up from underneath and grab it and then swim off with it. Sometimes if that doesn't work then we'll wacky rig it and that gives it a whole new action.

I'll have to try the super fluke, it sounds like it will have a different action and with the weighted hooks (gotta get some of those now), I can now fish it deeper. I've always wanted to fish a fluke deeper but it takes an incredible amount of time to get down there, and with a weight on it, it's action is too different so I've always just fished it shallow. Now I'll have a new weapon. After I bust a few bass on it, and he asks what I'm using, I'll say "fluke" and when he puts his on like always and maybe doesn't catch anything after I get a few more, then I'll say "oh, I meant to say SUPER fluke. Sorry". HAHA!!!! That'll show him they can work. Otherwise he might not even care to try one.

I shouldn't be so hard on him, he's a good friend.  But the way you all describe how this thing works, I don't want to not have it cause of stubbornness to try something different.

I've only fished the Fluke on a jighead for walleye.  The Super Fluke gets the nod for my bass duties.
