This might be a BR first as a topic ....  :-? :)

It's getting to be that time of year again.  I am in the market for the baddest mama jama ice scraper known to man.

Anybody have that?  A link would be helpful too.

I had one that had a lexan scraper the best one i ever had. Never got dull or any thing. I really cant help you munch. But there are a few things out there that can help. http://www.prestone.com/products/iceFighters.php ice and frost shield and de-icer both work great. I had to get the de-icer after a ice storm last year. I suggest you keep both in your car. Also keep de icer every were you park your car.

Man, with some of the pictures and trips you've posted, that may be the only answer.

But then I wouldn't be able to purchase this badddd mama jama ice scraper.  I mean I want this thing to be so bad@ss that I am almost looking forward to waking up in the morning with an inch of ice on the windshield and 15 minutes to get to work. ;D

I'm a big fan of the Prestone De-icer that you can get from Wal-Mart or any of the automotive stores.  For most of our coastal Carolina frosts I just spray a little on and hit it with the windshield wipers, and away I go.  On the rare occasion we do get a heavy frost I cheat...before I get in the shower I'll crank the car up, put the defroster on high, and douse the windshield with the De-icer.  By the time I get ready to leave the house I'm walking outside to the lovely squeek of a wiper blade on a dry window. ;)

Sorry, no mamma jamma, but it works!

Glenn,

I have been eyeing that first one, but in the 52".  This will be used on a 4Runner so a little length is nice for the windshield.  It's nice to have some input from someone who has actually used it.

And that second one ... hmm.  Looks like that thing could be classified as a weapon. ;D

A couple of those truck tailgate ramps and you'll have that windshield cleaned in a jiff.

Stocked cooler in the back seat, turn on the defrosters grap a Beer and enjoy, I love Bass Ale for this purpose.

My wife brought a $25 one last year and so far it's been holding up for her.

I've broken 5 of them in 6 years that I've been here.

I'm in need of a new one as well for this year..... ;D

I miss Texas. :(

A lot of folks in my neighborhood don't seem to know about ice scrapers at all. They manage to scrape @ 6" spot in line with the steering wheel and they are good to go. Some will go so far as to scrape a couple of peep holes in the side windows for safety's sake. ::)

I do like the de-icer more in my old age... 8-)

You been spying on me?  ;D  On a frost I'll just whip out a credit card and make a couple swipes and down the road I go. My driver's license does a pretty good job too.

Apply Rain X as per the directions. Do all of the windows and mirrors, not just the windshield.

Make sure the glass is spotless before applying. There's a glass cleaner made by Stoner that is top shelf.

I still have mine. That is the best thing ever made. I've actually sharpened mine over the years. Nothing busts ice or very heavy frost off the windshield like that thing.
