Got hit by a trojan

You have what's known as a hijacker.  Go to the site I linked to above, download hijackthis, and follow their instructions.

Great tool for speeding up your computer, btw, but you absolutely must know what you're doing.  The forums on that site will step you through it.

Then download and install Spybot Search & Destroy.  This will prevent hijacking in the future, amongst other malware and virus protections.

I took a peek at Glenn's recommendation and didn't have the energy to get into it.  Try this one, it has both of Glenn's programs he mentioned plus a few others.

A few months ago I had tech over to the house to clean up some trojans and he used Malwarebytes, worked like a charm so I installed on the other computers in the house.

^I like Malware Bytes' Antimalware also. It's free and it finds stuff that some other programs don't find.

Thats the one I got hit with.  Their logo looks very similar to Microsofts logo, but its nothing but trouble.  I had reupped my McAfee to take care of it, but my laptop is still slow from the attack a week ago.

Time for one of these computers - they are virtually virus free!
