Past "Sell by" date chicken... for the dog?

Featured Replies

Random question, I have some chicken breasts that I forgot about in the fridge.  Only expired 4 or 5 days ago.  I'm not gonna eat them but I could throw it on the grill and give it to the dog....  She'd be ok ya think??   :-?

Eat'em they should be ok. Dogs eat things that have been dead for months on the road. ;)

If they don't smell bad, cook 'em for the dog.

While dogs do eat things that smell bad, they also puke them up from time to time.  And, sometimes they die from eating things they've found.

If it doesn't stink wash it in vinager then make sure it is cooked thoroughly. Should. be ok for the dog. Of

course no bones, or skin.

If it doesn't smell bad, I'd use it. Four or five days has to be well within the extra margin built into expiration dates.

Or, if you have any doubts, just call a meat market and ask.

I would cook it up and feed it to my dog. I would mix it with some kibble.

DO NOT COOK THEM, if your gonna feed them to your dog. As long as they were previously frozen, you dog/dogs can eat them RAW..which is much better for them anyway..Raw chicken can be fed with bones and all, once you cook them, the meat has little value, as far as nutrtion is concerned, also the bones need to be removed, because they become brittle.

I fed my dog  raw chicken and beef since he was 6 months old..It's very good for them..agin as long as it was previously frozen prior to thawing it, and giving it to your dog.. ;)
