No, the bad guys are desperate to show they're still in charge, even when they're losing their grip.  It's a symptom of the effect of the pressure the good guys are putting on them.  It's an indication they're having successes, and the bad guys are feeling it. In turn, the bad guys resort to these tactics in a desperate attempt to make the good guys stop.

Underestimating these people is a grave mistake. They have very little to lose that is why they are involved in things good people are not. We need our military down there to support. Unfortunately once they have things under control the cockroaches will come out of hiding. This is a tough battle to win.

It will be some time before this gets under control.  I miss my trips to Acapulco.

With all the beheading, there might be a middle east extremists involved on some level. The situation in Mexico is out of control.

You find a Mexican Muslim terrorist and I will mail you a crisp one dollar bill.

Whats happening is Dispicable.

Sadly,  the Mexican drug cartel has gained a lot of power over the years.  The Mexican government needs to wage war on these people or let someone else do it.  Kind of like the way Columbia did against Escobar and his predecessor's.

Like in the U.S. the war will never be completely won,  but it can be tamed down a certain amount.  At least down from thousands and thousands of murders per year that are linked to the Mexican cartel.

You're exactly right. Al Qaeda in Iraq was the same way back in '06.

So much for the conspiracy theorists that were saying she made the whole thing up... sounds like the 2 guys he was chasing down found him first. Absolutely horrible.

Glenn is right, things got much worse in Ramadi in 2007 before we won in Al Anbar.

My thought (very unlikely) was that the extremist might be running some of the drug cartels on some level. They need money for their agendas and the Mexican drug economy is ripe considering how corrupt and feeble the Mexican government is. It is a conspiracy theory, but why the be headings? To me that puts a extremist stamp on their activities. I will not be going to Mexico to find an example for you. Keep your dollar in your pocket.

I dunno, IMO the beheading clearly puts a Henry the Eighth "stamp" on it.

:P

Bad guys all over the world for all of history have beheaded people.

let's get a trip lined up. The fishing is outstanding.

There certainly hasn't been any fishing pressure... you'd probably kill 'em.
