strike king series 6/5 crankbaits

Featured Replies

i have heard some bad things about these crankbaits and was wondering what you guys think about them.

All I know about them is that they catch fish.  I fish them all the time and have had no problems.  They seem to hold up as long as bombers do and I haven't had any problems with the hooks.

The Strike King Series 5 crank is one of my top producing crankbaits. It flat-out catches fish.

They are fish catching baits thats for sure, but some of them don't run straight out of the box, so you have to tune them.

Yup, caught my PB this year post spawn on a #5 in what color?  Yup, the Sexy Shad.  Call it hype, KVD madness or whatever you like but they work, they are cheap, and they flat out catch fish.

Get you some #4S models that run 2-4 ft and fish em on shallow rock this Fall.  I use em on Rip Rap on my home lake they just get hammered by aggressive fish.  Best baits I've ever used and they ain't $80 a piece!!!  More like $3.50 at Bass Pro.  ;)

Here's a little surprise I got earlier this summer on a Series 5.

Ditto on the good news.  I know of a couple who use them with excellent results.

DOUBLE UP!!!!  That is awesome!  Way to go boating those two nice looking bass.

I have had no trouble at all with them and love them just as others do.

Hey guys, that Sexy Shad color is the real deal.

We will have the hot new color called Chartreuse Sexy Shad soon.

KVD won an event recently with the proto type.

We have a client who reported hot action this weekend on one we got to him.

He fished stained water with the regular color with no luck and then put the

Chartreuse color on proceed to whack em.

I look forward to tying one on myself. ;)

I've read a lot of reviews that complain of the baits filling with water.  Anyone seem to have that problem?

I own a whole box of Series 5/6 cranks and have never had this problem with any of them.

Thanks lknbassman ;). It was quite the surprise.

I have not had any problems with them either, they have produced alot of bass for me this year!!

I've heard of others having problems with them filling with water but I have never had a problem with them. They are the only crankbaits I use and all the fish I have caught this year on crankbaits have been on a #5 in Sexy Shad.

First crankbaits that really worked for me. Best part is sometimes you can find them on sale for $2.50 or as the sign says 2 of $5. Guess they wanted you to think you were getting a deal.

If you cannot fish with them just send them my way. I love them. Could it be the tackle you are trying to fish them on? Just a thought. Good luck.

is the chartruesse better than the sexy shad or is it just better in off colored water?

I've heard its better in off-colored water.

I'm picking up one of these tommorow, and I hoping to get the Xcalibur xr50 too. IS Dick's cheaper or is Sports Authority. I bought a spinnerbait from Sports Authority and it was 3.50 and 1.75 at Dick's. Trying to save a couple bucks in the long run.

Sports Authority is WAY more expensive than Dick's, but sometimes they have nice sales. Or you can get a price matchup w/ Dick's and get 10% off the price of an item that both Dick's and Sport's Authority have. Hope that wasn't too confusing. lol ;)
