what a fish, Good job

I fish the Mississippi river all the time and theres tons everywhere.

Here's my best one to date

This 1 went 47 inches.

I was fishing a wing-dam for walleyes and he bit my jointed shad rap

My dad hung a gar the other day on a storm swim shad. It snapped his line. He never really had a chance, but that was sure one heck of a splash when it nailed that bait.

Looks like it would be fun to catch, I've only seen them in aquariums. Don't think they come this far north.

We take the needle nose and snap their jaws same thing with the jackfish (southern chain pickeral). You have to catch one like the 47"er to have a descent portion without a bone.

Them folks that run track in those white rubber boots (jk) make gar balls out of them.

There are a ton of Gar in a lake that I fish a lot. I hate the things. Any time I try to use any kind of spinner or crankbait they literally just destroy it.

I caught one my last time out on a superfluke and it put up a good fight. I hooked anther one that was HUGE...I saw this thing splash on the surface and almost had a heart attack. It was bending my MH rod like a twig and peeling drag like crazy. The hooked popped out of his mouth before I could get it in though (almost straightened my EWG worm hook).
