Hit up the Pony Pasture a week ago with my buddy in my kayak and he was in a canoe loaded up with bass gear. We started off using flukes for smallies, but the bite died off. We switched over to throwing bluegill for flatheads (underprepared as far as rods go, I was using a medium heavy ugly stik) in a pool above the Pony Pasture rapids and below the Z dam. After no more than ten minutes I nearly had the rod taken out of my hands. This fella pulled me and my kayak around for 45min! When weighed he went 35+ we caught a couple more 15-25lbs but nothing else was over 30. It made for a fun sleigh ride!

NICE FISH!!!

nice, dude. I want to make it down there for some cat action before it gets too cold.

great looking flathead.  Do you ever do any noodling for them?

New Angler, let me know whenever you get a chance to make it down.  It's always fun fishing with someone else so you have someone (someone to atest to the "fish that got away")

Sodaksker, I do know of a few people one including my buddy who will noodle for them, but going down to the bottom of the river feeling around holes with my hands only to find a turtle or snake is not my cup of tea.
