Ok, just do everything in half. Half for the entry fee, any money you split in no matter what. If you win a boat, I would sell it and split whatever you sold it for. From my experiences, if its a 10 fish limit, chances are when you weigh in fish it wont be even. You may have caught 7 and your partner gets 3 or visa versa, its usually not 5 and 5, lol. That day, usually one of you is on them, the other one if the net guy.

I fish team tourny all the time with dif partners and we all have an agreement we split all expenses entry gas oil ex. if we win anything we split it 50/50 very time. I fished with a guy 2 times that split the pot by who caught the most weight for the team it was in his advantage the fist tournament we split 70/30 he didn't like it the second time i got 100% all the fish were mine that team didn't last long. My old partner and I won a boat in 97 and he did not have one so we talked about selling it and we finally decided that i would keep the new one and give him my old boat it came out about wright money wise and we were both happy.

  My 2 cents

I agree 100%.  Split everything down the middle.  It helps take pressure off of you and your partner.  After all it is a team tournament.

I split 50/50 regardless if its tournaments are not  ;)

In Open tournaments where you can pick your partner, you and your partner should make the arrangements before the tournament starts to avoid any awkwardness or hard feelings afterward, should you guys get in the money.

In a draw tournament where you possibly get paired with someone you dont know, do the same thing.....work it out beforehand, not when they are handing the checks out.

The second club I ever joined was strictly a team draw format and everyone in the club during our preseason meetings agreed that the boaters got 60% and the co's got 40% of winnings during all club tournaments. I went along with it although I didnt like it much....especially when we split the entry fees and gas/oil down the middle. I didnt stay in that club too long....I was a non boater back then.

I always split it down the middle and then I try to split the big fish pot if I caught it. If my partner won't take it, I don't argue with him.  ;)

As for a boat. My first option would be to sell it and then split the money. The second option is the boater gets the new one and the non boater gets the boater's boat.

My husband and I fish in tournaments that you can team with anyone you choose, he and I are a team.  anything we win goes into our fishing fund.  My husband convinced me I would love bass fishing and fishing tournaments, he was right! My first 7 pounder, I haven't missed a tournament yet for the last two years.  I've actually pulled us through some tourn. with nice fish. We fish the American Bass Anglers Couples trail, it's a real good trail if your wife likes to fish. anyone interseted should check it out.
