It's time for the classic, the super bowl of bass fishing!

For all who are watching, keep an eye out for our roving reporters.

Glenn is riding with Ike

Not sure about Scott (5bass)

Glenn is with Ike?

Mr. Straight and Narrow with Ike?

Now that's a combination!

Looking forward t some great pics from Glen.

I just watched the day one stuff on ESPN this morning and it's looking like a good race so far.  My dad called me from the launch dock and I could here the guy introducing the anglers as they were driving by the dock and checking in.  Made me wish I was there even more  :'(.

KVD looks like he is on some big fish along with Ike, whom is one of the only guys catching big spots.  It's too bad Timmy Horton and Derick Remitz didn't do too hot.  I would have liked to see both of them do well.

looks like a little rain there..

 :)

Jeff

Yea but they need all the rain they can get.  I can't believe how far out the banks are on that lake.  I'm glad the drought hasn't affected how many fish they are catching though.

On another note.  What was that on the bow of KVD's boat?  It looks like a Biosonics system, but I thought they were outlawed in the Classic?  At least that's what KVD told me in 2006 when I met him at a University. I mean, obviously, he isn't going to cheat or anything so I'm assuming either the rules changed or it's something else.

Just looked on DVR. Just two different depth finders and/or chartplotters is what they look like to me.

BTW, if any of you guys haven't gone to the "Tournament Talk" forums, you need to check out Glenn's thread "Classic Day One".  ;)

Oh yeah.. Watch the videos!

BTW, Charlie Hartley doesn't sound to confident(might be a good bluff).

I bet none of them got a good night's rest with KVD in the position he's in.

Hartley sounded like a man who is sandbagging  ;)

Catt, I agree. Hartley is 'on to something'. It will be interesting to see the standings after today. Conditions are changing quickly and drastically. We will see how the pattern holds up.

Well the BLOG on ESPN hasn't updated lately but at 9:40 am Alton Jones has come on strong. Charlie is behind him an estimated 3 lbs. Ofcourse these are only "guesstimations".

I don't really care who wins it. They are all worthy.

Weather is holding, patterns should too,...at least for today.

Quoted from the Bassmaster site........

"ANDERSON, S.C. If Friday were the worst weather ever in a Bassmaster Classic, which it was, then Saturday marked the most dramatic two-day weather swing in Classic history.

When the 50-angler field took off on Lake Hartwell at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, the temperature was almost 10 degrees warmer than it ever hit Friday. The forecast is for the overcast skies and fog to give way to clear skies and sunshine by noon. The afternoon high is predicted to be 64 degrees.

"That's crazy," said Mike Iaconelli, who won the 2003 Classic and is fishing in the Bassmaster championship event for the ninth time. "In a Classic, I can't remember two days that were so different."

The guys who are actually there can let us know what is actually happening.   ;)

I see what you are saying but dark and dreary is the key.  Up the temps and keep it dark, the patterns should only get better....

But I'm no pro, although I DID stay at a Holiday in last week....... ;D

These guys make it look so easy ;D..I want to see them fish nj pressured waters and see what they could do..

I hear you there! I got to admit they would probably surprise us. These guys really do have a talent for finding fish in ANY water.

Hi guys, just popped in for a minute before heading to the weigh in.  It's 71 degrees and sunny right now.  It's like we skipped ahead a month!  This could kill Ike's pattern if the lake warms up too much.  We'll see.....

Talked w/Doug Hannon, Ray Scott, Forrest L. Woods and Randy Hopper today.

We're heading off to the weigh in now.  Will report back later.
