That is a nice fish.

That scar just demonstrates how tough bass really are. Gives her some character!

I was just recently noting how tough bass really are. I caught one from a bridge over a small pond creek and when I went to unhook it, it wiggled free and I pulled my hands away from the treble hook. The bass came unbuttoned and fell about 6 ft onto some concrete, then flopped into the water and swam away. I felt really bad because I thought I probably injured it, but then I realized that it was an accident and that it looked fine when it got back into the water...

I have three ideas:

Trolling Motor

Bird

Rocks

Water temp was 49 degrees this morning. I went back out and fished in the rain a couple of hours this morning and caught a crappie and a 3-4 lb bass. Had 3 other bites, but they hit it short. It looks like these 2 are the last fish of 2006 for me. Hopefully 2007 will be another awesome fishing year for everyone!!! ;)

Craig that looks like scars from a gill net. You see that a lot down here in Florida on saltwater fish but I've never seen it on a bass.

What did they hit? Suspending jerk bait?
