I use zooms fat albert grub. 4 inches, i use it on a 1/8 ozmushroom jig head. Smoke is a hard color to beat. Use a slow steady retrieve or bounce it off the bottom

Berkley XT, Berkley Vanish, and Berkley Fireline. I have used other lines, but there is something about Berkley that keeps it on my reels. Been using it for as long as i can remember and cant picture using any thing else exclusively.

Don't be surprised if you see a few bedding fish. Have a floating worm, senko, or tube ready. Also don't forget a spinnerbiat, can be very effective this time of year.

D22's and dt 16 like mentioned before but i also like the bomber fat free shad.

Don't let these reports worry you. I fish exclusively with the extremes and pro qualifiers and they are great reels. I have never had such problems. But if you ever have problems, had a few with a bionic plus, bps has great costumer service and will fix it like it was new.

Not a bad buy for 30. i bought one to use while i was getting one of my pro qualifiers serviced. had it on a 7' crankin stick. it cast fine and reels smooth. The only problems are that they are made of cheap components. Lots of graphite, plastic parts and minium alluminum. I use it when my other reels are being cleaned, but i cant see it lasting through a whole season. Definitly not like the speed spools lews is famous for.

Maybe i am just bias but i wouldn't rock the buzz this early in the year. Spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, chatterbaits, jigs, and cranks are better options in my opinion. But hey, its your trip not mine. If you are going to throw topwaters this early, make sure your tackle is heavy cause your chances of hitting a hawg are high.

I sure do hope so because it is one of the best smallmouth fisheries in the state. It is not that large of a river and the past years have shown bad reproduction rates.Hopefully, this has nothing to do with it.

It is realy common on the potomac. As for my river, the Monocacy, it was just recently discovered. If you go to mdfishing.org the article is there.
