Spinnerbait

Featured Replies

What your favorite or most productive spinnerbait? Brand? Color? Weight? Blades?

For me it's a Terminator Double Willow Leaf, 1/2oz White.

I only throw spinners in murky water

Single Colorado - #6 Gold (Throb City!)

I've caught fish on most every color spinnerbait I own.  The colors, red, yellow and green combos seem to be the most productive.  I caught a Crappie the other day on a large black Terminator.  I wondered what that Crappie was thinking, 'cause no way was that whole thing gonna fit in his mouth!  ;)  ;D

I much prefer half-ounce, double gold willow leaf blades.  Color: white, white/chartreuse, blue/white/chartreuse, blue/chartreuse, depending on water clarity.

It depends on the water clarity and sky conditions

but my all time favourite spinnerbait

is a home made

with .032" piano wire

3/4oz weight with the profile of 1/4oz tandem copper blades and chart/white 60 strands skirt

3/8oz Gold Frame War Eagle in Sun perch, tandem blades. IMHO War Eagle makes the best spinnerbaits hands down, I no longer own any other brand of spinnerbait.

I've caught on 1/8, 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4oz spinnerbaits. I usually start off with 3/8oz and change as needed to achieve the right depth. For blades and skirt colors, I let the water clarity dictate what I use. Clear water, I usually start with a double willowleaf blades with a translucent skirt, if that doesn't produce, I go with white or natural colored skirts. When water is stained, I'll switch up to a tandem or double colorado blades. I start off with white and chartruese skirt and move on to either a solid chartruese or a dark skirt. Muddy water, tells me to start with a single colorado or a double oklahoma blade rig with a black, solid chartruese skirt. As far as brands, a few of my favorites are XCiter, Picasso and Strike King.

Mine is the horizon ghost minnow, 1/4oz, tandom chrt./white however i cant find them any more. Anyone know where i can get more im runnin low
