Hit the river today for a couple hours with my dad.

Fishing was slow, but I managed two bites. Got one

on a jerkbait, and this one on a jig.

Dad hadn't had any bites, so I suggested that we head over

to the deep hole for some spooning. He agreed. We spooned

around for about 25min. when suddenly, Dad hooked up.

He fought what we assumed was a flathead for 6 or 7 minutes.

When he finally got it to the surface, SURPRISE...mudbass!

Foul hooked in the tail. We both had a nice laugh over that.

Slow day or not, another great outing with Dad.

Nice fish. I love it when i get to drag my dad fishing . As long as he catches small fish Lol . If not look out for the trash talk  ;D

Those are nice fish.  I have never seen a mud bass before.  Its got really great color!

Thanks, I don't think I have ever seen those eith.   My grandfather fishes for Carp all the time, but I have never been with him when he goes.

Fishing with dad is the best.  Great memories!

Sounds like fun. I like to fish with my dad. Its a good time. Sounds like you had one too. And even tho it was slow, you guys got some nice fish.

Funny, but if this was China, your dad with the big carp (mud bass is a slang term blueyes) would have the prize, and you with the bass would have the "mudcarp"
