hey all, went out today right after school to Lake Anna. Dad had his Nitro boat in the garage all winter and we decided today would be a good day to go. We launched out of Christopher Run which now has a ramp fee of $8! It used to be like $5! Dad really didn't try to fish, he threw my spinner-bait a little but he said he was just fiddling around more than fishing... ;D

Anyway, we headed up past Sturgeon Creek and found us a nice cove on the right side. And to my luck it had tons of stumps and laydowns. Good place to fish! It was shallow (6 feet max) but I had confident. Pitched around my Wacky Rigged Yum Dinger (Junebug) and I looked over and seen this HUGE Stump! It had the sun on one side and I seen on the back side it was real dark (I couldn't see down behind it and I was in 3 foot of water). So I felt like something would be there, pitched it in the shadow and it went down 1...2...3 (seconds) and then I seen my line pick up and start moving. "There's one" and set the hook. Small bass but good none the less (1/2 pound).

We then worked the cove, and then got tired of it and headed out and worked the bank comming into the cove, which it also had good stumps, etc. Fished along there and still with my Junebug Dinger Wacky pitched it by two conjoined stumps and I felt weight. Popped the hook and there was a 1 pounder! Not 20 minutes after the first one.

sounds like a blast.  id love to go fishing with my dad, to bad he dosent fish and is a dick lol.

im heading out to lake orange in about an hour or so for a few hours in a rental before ive got to get back to take over with my son.  i would have invited you but i know you have school so we will have to do it again sometime soon.  im probably gonna get wet but some cloud cover should be good today.  got some new swimbaits and im going after a big one (even though it dosent seem like great swimbait conditions)

It was at the last minute when dad decided to go. Besides I believe you had work that day...and also, I don't recall being invited when you and Mrs. Gore headed out to Hot Side on Anna...
