My Trip to Hawaii

Featured Replies

I'm back from my trip to Oahu. What a beautiful place. We did and saw so many cool things it would take me too long to recall. However, the part of the trip that still stands out in my mind is me catching MY FIRST PEACOCK BASS!!!  ;D

What a cool fish that is. Aggressive and strong, not to mention beautiful. I ended up boating 3 during our half day trip on Lake Wilson. (a fourth one wiggled off the hook as I was about to boat it.)

Ok, so here are some pics.

This is the beautiful Lake Wilson.

A few minutes later, I caught this male guarding the nest.

This last pic is me returning him to his bed. It was a calm day and the water was nice and clear. You could see him zip right back to the nest.

Pound for pound, Peacock Bass sure are strong. And they aren't shy around a boat. Chris Wright from Hawaii Bass Fishing was our guide. I highly recommend these folks. Very knowledgable and they know the lake backwards and forwards. Next time I go, I'll try for some barracuda as well.

Awesome dude,

I'm not big on travelling , but Hawaii is one place I want to visit.

They film "Lost" there.

Glad you didn't get eaten by the black smokey monster.  :-/

Beautiful lake , beautiful fish!  Hawai is far away for us Cypriots  :( but who knows maybe I will manage to go there.
