Sorry, I need to VENT!!!

Looks like you guys are getting them good and often now. I haven't been out recently pretty much this past Sunday and only for a half day after 7pm. I had an unfortunate "run in" with one of those "I own the lake" mentality pleasure boaters, that got me wanting to follow him to his dock and lay him out. After coming cutting in between my boat and the shoreline of which I was fishing within 25ft of my boat sending out 2-3ft wake, I yelled "How about giving us a little room here". Which he then responded by throttling the gas and then proceeded to run about 30mph doing a donut around my bass boat. All of which while he had what looked like to be his grandson in the back of the boat. Next time I venture out on this lake I am taking a camera and if necessary sending the pics and bow numbers to Marine Patrol. This has really got me steamed and thats not the right frame of mind to be out on the water. I am just amazed at the lack of consideration and respect by people out on the water these days.

Thats one of the many reasons I am glad to fish "electric only" lakes.

People dont seem to run their mouths too much when they absolutely know their boat isnt any faster than mine   ;)

Unfortunately, its not just people out on the water, it's people everywhere else, as well.

Man, that got ME steamed! I really do not understand people these days. Why would you go out of your way to tick someone off, and with your grandson with you? What a great lesson that kid learned. Look out for him on the lake in a few years.

IPa1nL,

What you experienced has nothing to do with "consideration or respect."  That behavior is just aggressive and downright outrageous. You need to report this to the authorities and press the issue. Otherwise, someone is going to get hurt.

I agree.

...although...I hate to be the nay-sayer here...I have seen my share of fisherman behaving badly as well.

I have said it before ( to much criticism) and will say it again...any moron can go and buy a boat and drop it in the water. They do not have to be qualified to operate a boat or even smart enough to zipper their pants and out on the water they go. I think there should be classes that folks have to take to operate power boats. I think in order to get your license plate for your trailer or whatever you have to prove you have been through a boating safety course.

...dont even get me started on the fact that anyone can go buy a 60 foot motorhome and take it out on the road. My grandfather driving a motorhome...freakin SCARY!!! He could not get through Burger Kings drive through in his Honda without some effort...but we let him behind the wheel of a motohome, no questions asked! ( and yes he hit something on his way home from the dealership)
