8/23/07--New lure, hot weather, 5 lber

Featured Replies

I bought some Jackall lures from ExtremeLures.com and they came in yesterday.  One of them was the TN70, a rat-l-trap type bait.  It has a very tight wiggle and some great colors.

I threw it yesterday and had a big(?) one on for a few seconds but I lost her to a poor hookup.  I did catch several keepers off of it too.  Went back to the same pond today and fished it from 11:30 AM to 2 PM, in the heat(100 F) of the day and I fished it FAST.

I'm on the bank, about 20' from the water and I'm ripping it back to me.  As the TN70 gets near the bank, in about 2' of water, this 5 lber races in and grabs it right in front of me.  She ran with it but I got her back in a few seconds.  Yes, Bass will bite in the heat of a hot summer and they will chase a fast running bait if the bait has what it takes.  Caught 3 dinks and a 2 lber off it too today.

You make my little bass I post look tiny......I should be ashamed.... :-[ but I'm not ;D

I probably shouldn't post em but I will... ::)

That 5+ lber was a very pretty fish.....nice proportion....more like my Ky Lake bass, cute ;)

Like me, I know you enjoy just being there....As much as I love the catching and the occasionial tail kicking I hand Joe, there's so much more..... I love the sounds, the smells, the critters, the sunrises and the sunsets........guess I'm smitten with it all.....

Maybe I'm just enjoying life, for the first time in a long time...... :)

Thanks for being part of my br family ;) for adding smiles to living.......

Great fish Dan! It's always great to catch fish on a new lure and gain confidence in that particular bait.

Daiwa makes a lure very similar to the Jackall TN-70. The Daiwa T.D. Pro's Vibration 107 which also comes in a silent version. Great lure!

Back out in it this afternoon for about 2 hours but only 2, small keepers :-/

Nice looking bait Daniel 8-)

Looks like nice pond. Is it stocked with bait fish? I know most of the Bass you post from there are a little on the lite side for their length. Nice fish none the less. Maybe when they fatten up you'll be posting the same fish lengths at 8+ lbs! 8-) I wish I had a private pond like that near by to fish. There's just something about getting out in the woods and fishing a shore line.

Yep Jay, it's stocked with panfish for the Bass to feed on.  The owner(my former boss) is managing his two ponds to grow trophy Bass but it's still in the works ;).  Ironically, he has never fished.  He hunts but fishing doesn't turn him on.  Of course, if he tried it, he might like it.

Your former boss doesn't realize what he's missing!!!

It's kinda like you have it all to yourself!  :)  If you want... I'll come up and help you see just what's in there! :D I'm sure there will be some monsters in there within a few years. All those young long fish just waiting to hit middle age and get all fat! ;D
