surprise 7lber!

Featured Replies

I was down at the river today with my buddy, throwing grubs and soft plastics as usuall. I was getting strikes, and losing fish. I lost 4 fish, and one felt like a giant. My buddy accidentally snagged a giant 15" shad in the side. And some guy there caught a lake trout. I have never seen anybody catch a lake trout in the river. I was about ready to pack it up and go home, but we decided to move down to the bridge before we left. Thats where i caught my last 2 big walleyes, 10 and 6lbers. My first cast with a huge 6" huskey jerk, i had a fish. It was pulling line like crazy. I called out "fish on!! Its got to be a steelhead!" It fought really hard for about a minute. I got it up to shore, and my partner yelled out "walleye!" I thought he was kidding. It HAD to be a steelhead by the way it fought. But no, it was a walleye. A 24 inch 7lb walleye. A total pig! Check it out

Nice fish there  ;D - I've never caught a walleye, but it seems like they fight pretty hard

When i caught my 10lber it just dragged up to the net. This guy pulled like a train. Crazy stuff.

Nice!

Is it swimming in the river or in hot oil? ;)

I have a hard time throwing walleye back, they are just sooo good to eat.

well hes not swimming at all right now, just sitting in the freezer boneless and skinless. I promised my girlfriend i'd get her a fish since she loves walleye and salmon, but have never tried wild ones before.
