New PB and illegal fishing

Featured Replies

My last PB was 4.85lb. Since May 2007 i cought around 25 bass very close to this figure and today was the day to break it!!

I arrived at the dam early am 5am. After having a hot coffee i started searching with a jerkbait. After a 1/2 hour without any action i saw topwater action very close to shore. I cast at the point where i saw the action and .... 5.5lb

Until 9:30am i cought another two 2lb on creature baits.

i was very happy for breaking my pb but then i heard the bad news on my way to the car from some carp fishermen. Someone using fishing nets directly over the bass spawing area manage to catch a lot of 7-10kg carp as well as 2.5kg bass and a couble of zanders. Unfurtunately the situation in my country with illegal fishing is out of control especially this year as the water level is the lowest of the last 10 years.

This is what is happening on daily basis :'( :'(, see also the water line and how low is the dam...

Way to go buddy 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I just hope these beauties make it through the summer....

Anyway, regarding illegal fishing, you know what happenned last night, with the police going for the illegals on the eastern shore. In addition, earlier this morning, Police sent a patrol to Dhipotamos and Lefkara to stop illegal fishing there. I just hope these are not one-off events. The CFAA has decided to pusue this matter intently and hopefully will see some results...

way to go mate!! Well done..what a beauty.. As vyron said on for the 3 kg now!! :D, while i seek for the 4kg ghost bass

Thank you all 8-)

Beautiful fish my friend. Well done!!

I don't have the time to go fishing myself lately, but at least it is good to see that there are still some beauties left in our "little" dams.

Again, bravo! Waiting for the next one! :)
