craigslist for fishing gear?

Featured Replies

Just curious to see if anyone else has gotten in great or not so great deals on fishing gear via craigslist.  I found a guy selling a quantum tour edition pt for $50!

You can find anything and everything on Craigs List.

A couple of months ago I found a guy selling St.croix rods cheap .

I mean legends for like $60 and avids for $35. I was really broke or I would have loaded up.

My only encounter with Craig's list was for an outboard. It was dirt cheap so I figured something was wrong with (which was no big deal). But when I asked what was wrong with it, I didn't get a response, I asked again, nothing, on the third attempt I said I would like to take a look at the motor BUT I needed to know what was wrong with it so I knew roughly what I was looking into money wise for the repair. My response, "nothing a repair shop can't fix". With that I decided to look elsewhere.

I haven't found anything worth my time on craigslist yet.

I found a prop and am driving 340 miles round trip to get it this week end.  It is exactly like what I have on my Opti.  I have seen pics and am looking forward to getting it.

HAHAHAHA  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've sold decent gear on craigslist before (citicas and st croixs) but I've never been able to find any other good fishing deals.

I'm still lurking though...

I've bought a Loomis IMX rod on craigslist for $100.  Yesterday someone posted a curado 100D for $100, and a loomis IMX 7' H rod for $200.  I've also seen curado B's for $50 a few times.  Other than those its just junk people don't want any more.

Muddy-you're lucky your friend wasn't arrested in one of the prostitution stings on craigs list  ;)
