Latest outing..Wife gets new PB!....

Featured Replies

Well...she always outfishes me, but this time she skunked me. I have been in a very bad slump of late. Missing fish, getting short strikes. Just seemed like everything i do screws up. Has anybody ever felt uncomfortable about landing fish?? Its really weird. I didn't think you could get in a slump fishing but I guess I have. Must not be "holding my mouth right" as the old saying goes. :-/ On a bright note, my wife bagged this nice 3 pounder which is her new personal best! I'm very proud of her. She fought it like a pro after she got over the initial shock of having a hard pulling bass on. She did real good. It was the only bass of the day in a public lake that had been getting a ton of pressure as of late. As far as me...I think maybe I should have thrown topwater a little more. TWICE I got hits as I was reeling in my T-rigged plastic lizard on top. One great bite that i just missed the fish and one other time, I got straightlined. Probably a small bass. I threw ALOT of crankbait and plastic worm and came up empty. Anyway...a fun day with my better half. Pic below. She's the best! :)

Ask her for a few pointers. Don't feel bad we all go through what you're experiencing.

Whoe MasterBasser09, that is one nice looking..er..er..er..bass. Yeah that's it.  ;D  Seriously though,  it looked like your wife had a good day.  A couple more would have been good but you can never complain about a new P.B.  Have a good day y'all.

Nice fish. ;)

Looking at the smile on her face, it all worked out exactly the way it was suppose to. Congratulations to both of you

Nice fish, great pic!

8-)

great fish.......... if it get's a lot of pressure, you might look into some finesse techniques like dropshotting.......

Maybe try a package of flukes next time........ that's my #1 go to bait right now... maybe they can work for you???
