Good one on a tough day

Featured Replies

I fished my second ever tournament Saturday on Lake Talquin with the Tallahassee Bass Anglers. Fishing was tough and only one limit was weighed in.

Lake Talquin seems to be windy a lot, and Saturday was no exception. It rained hard all day Friday as a cold front moved through.

I only had two fish, but one was this 4.98 pound fish that was big fish for the tournament and helped me take second place:

Tell you what, Talquin will keep you humble.  There are plenty of good fish in it, but they don't come easy.

Congrats, are ya fish more tournaments now?!!!!

Gotta love spinnerbait bass. Just reeling it in, feeling the subtle vibrations, then SMACK. Fish on  ;D

It's funny how I went for years without ever catching a bass on a spinnerbait then, about 20 years ago, I started catching fish on them and have never stopped.  I almost always have a rod rigged with one on the deck.

I think the only fish I've seen you post about on here were both white spinnerbait fish. 9lbs. & this one.  Lucky bait?  :P

OK, here's one caught on a Senko at Talquin a little over a year ago. It weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces.
