It was a cheap little booyah boo jig in watermelon red color with a watermelon rage tail chunk.

was the chunk threaded or nose hooked?

I got my first Jig bass this past spawn. However it is much easyer to catch a bedding bass on a jig. Great job. I use a $20 berkley didital scale. The spring ones are not reliable. However that big fish is at least 8 LBS which is still a hawg. Great catch
