Fred Parker of Georgia watched in amazement as this 7+ pound lady launched into the air and landed in his boat. Isn't it what we all dream of: lunkers just jumping in the boat!

Did he have it hooked or did it simply jump into his boat?

His boat hit a stump which spooked the fish. It jumped into the air and landed in the boat.

Thats strange right there :o :o :o :o :o :o

youve got to be kidding me!!! he should sell all of his equipment for a profit on that one!!

Not to hijack the thread, but just yesterday I spooked one about 2 lbs and it jumped out of the water and onto the bank where it got itself lodged between some roots and a rock.Naturally I had to rescue it and it turned out to be the only fish I "caught" all day.  I was just amazed at the site of the phenomenon ;D

hahah ive never heard of anything like that sounds like a cool experience

Looks like a gar tried taking a bite out of his butt.

The marks on the fish are the result of spawn activity. The female takes quite a beating at this time.

That's a heck of a fishing story!

Last season I almost had the same thing happen. I was going up this small stream using the trolling motor going through a shallow grassy stretch, when all of a sudden this huge Large mouth jumped up to just above the trolling motor head and almost landed in the bow of the boat. Instead, I saw it land just under the bow and head for the the stern so I chucked my swim bait behind the boat and low and behold she bit. This would of been my Personnel best I think,(don't know till you weigh em'), at about 6-7 pounds, but unfortunately as I was bringing her in my Baitcasters drag blew out on me. I couldn't reel so I grabbed the line and tried to hand line her in. I couldn't keep up with her and the hook came undone. :'( Oh well I hope I find her again this season.

Sorry for High jacking the thread.

That's a wild story, George.  It's too bad the fish didn't jump into your boat.  You could have used that as advertising copy.  "For the best fishing in your life, fish with George Welcome.  With his guidance the fish jump right into the boat."

Great post George.

Now will you guys believe me when I tell you I rammed all those stumps on purpose?

that is a great fish, he will have a good story to bring back up to georgia

That's it!!!......I'm moving to Florida! LOL

That's just crazy!
