Have any of you had success flipping white jigs for bass?  I was just thinking that the contrast between the plastic trailer and the white skirts would either be really enticing, or just too plain spooky for the fish to be interested.

Never tried a white jig. I have about 40 jigs and they are all natural craw colors. Watermelon, Black/Blue, PB&J etc. Just never had confidence in white for a jig around here. If I want to immitate a baitfish I'll go with something else like a fluke.

Try it, can't hurt. You gotta find what works for you.

I haven't used them flipping but have had good success swimming them around flooded bushes.

n00b question: and ofcourse by "swim", you mean yo-yo-ing it around brush like a spinnerbait?

I've done ok with them, I use them when the main forage is minnows and various other baitfish. Although I don't fish them nearly as slow as I do with green, brown, or black/blue jigs. I let them hit the bottom, and sit for about 2-3secs, then hop, then wait 2secs, then hop. I definetly fish them quicker then craws, simply because baitfish move quicker then craws.

But yes, they will work. But I only choose them when I feel the fish's primary forage is baitfish.

In our Sept. tourney - both my partner and I were throwing white spinner baits as a way of trying to imitate shad.  At one point he made a cast and got the dreaded "professional overrun" - after pickin out the loops he started to reel in and caught his first fish of the day.  This immediately triggered me to tie on a white jig and I caught all of my fish for the remainder of the day on this lure.  I did throw my spinner bait some more, but only got followers or nippers.  The trick was that white jig.

dont know if this is irrevelant, but i live in nh and the lake i fish is really murky and i used a white spinnerbait silver blades and i caught 4 smallies,switched to a white jig and caught 2, 2-3lb largemouths, just thought it was weird never used white before and it worked.

The jig I fish most is a white jig and swim it just like you would a spinnerbait this can be a deadly combination.

I have some but have not used them.  I normally use a small fluke or grub trailer on spinner baits. I would assume the same for a jig but what are others using?

I use a regular white silicone skirt - some times I will swap out the skirt on another jig to white if I don't have a white jig head at the time - brown or green pumpkin jig heads with white skirts.  I use a YUM or ZOOM trailer in white as well.

White jigs w/ white chunks can be great in the fall...  I used to do this a lot, pitching it into trees, brush and under docks.  The lighter the better. (weight, not color)  Loved the original rattleback jigs in 1/8 oz...  they were full sized but light weight.  (although the hooks rusted out pretty quick)

i like to use a white swim jig with a white or smoke single tail grub trailer. a white bucktail jig with a white soft plastic paddle type bait works well for rockfish.
