Abu Garcia makes some nice spinners. i dont use them much but for trout they work well.

I like the Mepps Musky Killer, they are generally bigger inline s and give a nice size profile for a bass, i also like rooster tails

I was at Dick's a while back and they have their own brand of certain items, one being the inline spinner, 99cents each.  I picked up four in differrent colors and different sizes, I'm thinking 1/4 ounce and 1/8 ounce.  I haven't thrown them yet, but I plan to do some fishin' with them this spring.  I got a firetiger pattern, 2 rainbow patterns, and a black and gold pattern that I have no idea of what it mimicks, but I got it because of the colors.

Good baits for numbers, but I've never caught a bass over about a pound and a half on one. Good for trout. Good for big crappie, but not for numbers of crappie. The bad thing about them is the line twist.

I've found one that doesn't twist your line.

Get a couple of these and put a suspend strip along the bottom of the entire body. It will run deeper and not twist your line. It's hard to get these very deep without some help.

Rapala used to make a version of this that was a heavier, better balanced bait, but i haven't seen any for sale for a few years now.

I use the MEPPS #3 and 4's in the firetiger pattern at a muddy power plant lake that I fish. I break it out when nothing else seems to work and I always seem to catch a few fish on it. On average they seem to catch smaller fish with an occasional nice one. It seems lately I have been breaking it out a little more than I'd like to. For some reason I would rather catch a bass on a different kind of lure. I think it is extremely underated as a bass lure, especailly in muddy water.

 Mepps #3's were probably the first bait I used after getting away from pan-fish. I was still using Zebco 33's back then. Still use them some and still like them as much. I always used the white haired and silver blade or the buck-tail with brass blade.

 I picked up a #4 not too long ago and haven't gotten a chance to try it out (weather is bad and getting worse, supposed to go down to 17 tonight and then sleet, freezing rain and snow for several days  :'( we're all gonna die!!  just not used to this kind of stuff around Memphis).

 The line twist doesn't bother me as bad as them reaching out and getting hung up on anything in the water within 5' of "em. I guess it's because of them being small, but when anything with any size inhales them they go deeper than a rubber worm that's been swallowed.

 Even with those several problems, on light gear they are a blast...

One of the largest two day tournament stringer I ever caught weighed 98.7 lbs for 20 bass; the lure was a Hildebrandt Snagless Sally white skirt/gold blade with a white Uncle Josh Crawfrog trailer.

yea i do agree with SKILLET they are a pain to fish when the water is full of weeds and do get alot of fish in the gills but still well worth it................... most of the fish ive gotten in the gills live (only one died to our knowledge) so its more of a hastle than anything else

 I remembered this last night after I logged off. I happened to meet Bill Dance at a store opening or something like that quite a number of years ago (man, it seems like I start a lot of my stories with "quite a number of years ago"  ). I had several #3 Mepps in my hand when I went to shake hands with him. He saw them and said "some of the best baits for smaller lakes and ponds". I know a few people have problems with him (fishing stocked private ponds and such) but I've probably learned more from him than anyone and still think a lot about his opinions on things related to fishing...

Also, try to find a CP Swing, a buddy of mine told me they are a classic.  Tough to find.

a gander mountin near me has a good selection of em but every time i go to buy one i never have enough money to get it after everything else but next time ill make sure i try em out  

A white Roostertail spinner will catch anything that swims!
