Featured Replies

in the early summer whats a good bait to use i like fishing soft plastics the water is dirty dark water with shallow rocks and a small tree is sitting in a current about 2 feet of water  the pond is about the size of a football field thankz

10+ inch ribbontail worm

6-7 inch senko

soft plastic frog

Zoom trickworm

Try some spinnerbaits... :D.

Depending on how dark and dirty the water is, I would try a white one with 1 silver willowleaf, and 1 silver colorado blade.

Try nightfishing there with a Strikeking Midnight Special spinnerbait, i prefer black, with an Uncle Josh Pork Rind on the back.

I sencond  the senko's also!

Oh...don't forget trailer hooks on spinnerbaits if you try them!  :)

As far as I'm concerned, there's no lure I'd rule out at that time of year.

My all time favorite for early summer will have to be early morning top water like a Zara Spook or something. Anything that walks the dog will produce, well in my case it does.

Spend some time in the BassResource.com Library, "Fishing Articles"

at the top of the page. We have a huge collection of seasonal tips. As

a summary of what you might find, everything works in the spring and

summer, but some lures seem to work better than others.

I fish soft plastics and jigs year-around. Other than that, my favorite

lure class is jerkbaits, but traps may be more productive. For most

guys, spring and early summer is all about topwater, buzzbaits and

spinnerbaits. Whatever you like will catch a few bass, guaranteed!

BTW,

The Slug-Go is not really a separate category, but it is in a class of its own!

Agree with RW.

One problem- Keep the Slug-Go quiet!

I thought I was the only one still fishing it. :D
