Michael goes fishin with PaPa

Featured Replies

My Grandson Michael, has an Outing with a bunch of friends next wkend and wanted to learn how to use a bait casting set up prior to going....So we set up a 7'ft med casting rod with a Quantum reel and to the pond we went. We figured he should replicate the similar conditions to what he will be fishing so the boat stayed home today :)

Our choice of baits was the New Rage Shrimp which is Elaztech so changing the bait would be minimal. Wasn't long, about 1-1/2hr and he had caught 15 fish on the same bait and he said, "PaPa....I think I've got it" ;D He then asked how many Shrimp he could take to the outing and I said you only need one....he replied "Not for me PaPa, for all my friends" ;) He's such a fine Boy

TiTo my pup, jumped in the water trying to get the first Bass Michael reeled in and started barking when Michael pulled it away :o My Dog is "NUTS about FISHIN too.....don't know how he got that way :D

Cool stuff there Steve, I bet Michael's arm was gettin' tired from bringing all them beasts in.   Great start with a lot of summer left. 8-)

Too cool!

Good stuff!

What a great way to spend time with your grandson!  Can never go wrong with taking him fishing.....even if you don't enjoy going yourself ;)

I'm sure he'll have lots of "shrimps" to share!!!!  Must have learned it from someone close :)

Hey Deb, You know I enjoyed our time more than he did for sure ;) I got to see the sparkle in his eyes and the smile on his face when he made some awesome casts as well as when he hooked those fish Wouldn't trade it for the World :D

That made me smile just reading about it. I bet he enjoyed it just as much as you did. How sweet of him to think of others, so many adults don't even consider others.. extra special for a young one to have this trait!

While as for me.. I don't share my baby crawls with CJ.. even got my own container that I guard when I am catching and he wants one.. he he he... I need all the help I can get. He still beats me somehow, think it is because he gets the fish first from the front of the boat  >:(

Thanks Nikki, He's my best little buddy for sure  :) and he has always been thoughtful and considerate.

As for CJ tryin' to steal your Baby Craws....Tell him if he'll be extra nice and considerate to you, "You MIGHT share some with'em"   8-)

Well... I MIGHT but after seeing Paul's outing I realized I could use some of my baby crawls in Falcon color ;)

BTW.. the worms work GREAT! On a really bad day when they weren't biting.. I got 2 fish right off after switching over.

Hope the fish keep eating my baby crawls like they have, they sure don't mess around with spitting them out ;D

now that's a good outing right there bud.  nothin' like seeing the young folks catch 'em.  i can see it now.  he's gonna be like big o one day.  :)
