Saw this on another forum and wanted to post it here. Lake Austin record was shatered by 2lbs with this 16.03lb LM. If you think about it, not that far away from the 18.18lbs which is the state record.

What an awesome fish ! That fish is shaped very similar to my PB.

But only a Lake record ? Isn't that right next to the Texas state record ? I know it has to be within ounces anyway, but I was thinking the Texas record was 18.1.... No ?

The Texas Record is 18.18 I believe. This fish was #22. but almost every lake has a lake record of over 10lbs. I think the Texas record will be broken this year. In the last 2 months we've had 2 lake records broken. Falcon, with a 15.something, and now lake Austin with this 16.03.

Nope afternoon. He had to wait over 4hr for the sharelunker guy from TXPW to get there and verify it. By then it was dark.

If I ever caught a bass that big, I would have to change my drawers.

You know what bugs me.That big ol 18 and a half pounder caught at Melones from the guy in my town was the biggest bass ever caught in a tournament and BASS never did a story or anything on it.He was in the lunker club with it in the previous magazine

It is definitely possible the the state record could be broke soon, and there are many lakes that could do it.  O.H. Ivie, Falcon, Choke Canyon just to name a few.

Would not suprise me to see it come out of any number of lakes.

Okay. I thought "this fish" was 18.18

But either way, that is one heck of a nice Bass !

I'll be trying for a 30 to 40+ lb Bass today.... But I think mine will have Stripes on it
