Windy Day at the Preserve. Good Fishing 3-4-11

Featured Replies

Today my good friend Juan M. and I hit Lox Preserve. It was as windy as I have ever attempted to bass fish, close to 25 mph. I started the morning on a JD'sCustomBait frog and stuck with all day accept for some dinkers on the spinner bait at lunch. Juan was busting them on a Bass Assassin weightless. We boated close to 15 and 5 were real good ones.

Way to get em, Shane! You're really starting to find where the big'uns live out there at Lox. Great fish!

It was blowing hard as hell today.  I went out for a little while on my lake here and got slung around all over.  How'd that Gheenoe handle the wind out there?

WTG Shane, you and your Fla. lakes are on fire this year... Great photos too

Well.....it was like a rag doll in the mouth of a pitbull. But we managed. There was absolutely no place to hide. Got all the fat chicks inside on the flats. tried to go backcountry but just got tossed off the trail. We gotta get out there! Did I tell you I sunk the boat last time at Lox? Nothing ut the TM, steering wheel Motor cowling and the poling platform were sticking out of the water. Sunk it in the hunting trail way back there :o

Oh sure, tell me that story right as you say that we gotta get out there.  :P  Thats reassuring as all hell.   ;D  I'll shoot you a PM after watching the show on Versus and see what we can plan.

How the heck did you get out of there?  Theres no way that was even remotely fun.

I hit the ICW in Delray about 5 am, on the east side and a bit buffered from the wind so it wasn't bad, but could only muster 1 small jack. Stopped at the beach at Boynton inlet, a good 25- 30mph east wind with 6-8'waves breaking on shore, nice conditions but no fish!  Went bass fishing the rest of the day, nothing eventful until dinner time, caught a nice lady.

Nice bass,Congrat's.

just flat out smokin' 'em.  fantastic, especially considering the conditions.

Shane, nice job on the Charlie Moore TV show that aired on Friday.  I'm itching to get back on those snakeheads as soon as our local bass tournament season wraps up in May.

Thanks Jack, glad you liked it. It will rerun again in the morning (wed)on Versus @ 9 a.m. keep an eye out for the next Snakehead roundup that JD'sCustomBaits is putting on. I wish everyone would spend some time killing them so we could keep them in check. We have to get the word out that these fish are no good for our bass population.

Awesome fish. I don't know if it's my work computer here or not but that second fish looks almost gold. Been eating too many shiners huh ;D. Looks like a heck of a day though.

That's some beautiful fish right there. Have they already spawned or going to later. Just wondering because of the slack bellies............Mike 8-)

Your the man Capt! Nice catch as always
