I rarely use scents on my baits but i bought some spray scent that smells like fish with anise oil in it. Do you think it would help or hurt if i put it on my soft plastics.

I don't think it would hurt I don't use scents alot but I will after a cold front and on my jigs. Don't usually put it on plastics because they're already scented.

I always use a scent on a soft plastic.  I don't know if it attracts them or masks another scent, but they tend to hold on longer-especially on a jig-n-pig.

sure a little scent helps to cover up the scent from your hands and it  makes them hold on to the bait a little longer if there picky

nothing but positives on this idea, i like to use carolina lunker sauce in the crawdad scent, always work good for me.

Yeah,they serve their purpose;cover your scent and to make the bass hold on to the bait an extra second or two.

i use smelly jely bassfeast.it definately makes them hold the bait longer!!!

Got anyone you don't like?  Soak a rag with scent and leave in car during a hot day,...practical jokes are non-stop between UPS drivers and this one never fails,...I like to tuck it up under the heater box,lol

I use scents as an attractant and to hide my own scent.

im kinda confused on this but how would sent help underwater? can they taste it or something? seems like it wouldnt matter to me. atho i do use scent sometimes . Ive just never really understood how they could smell it or how it would make them hold onto it longer

a bass' smell is 10,00 times stronger than ours.  Same as a dog.  The molecules from a scent disperse into the water so the water closest to the source will saturate more.  Same thing as putting out a block of frozen chum/blood to attract a shark.

A tip I read a couple of years ago was to carry some garlic salt in the boat and sprinkle some on your hands after launching to mask the smell of gas and oil caused by fiddling with the motor.  You can also sprinkle some in your bag of baits to give them a little more scent and some flavor.  Don't know if it works, but it can't hurt.

I'm not a beleiver that bass are attracted or put off by scents.  Taste, now that is a whole other matter IMO.  Once that fish actually has the bait in his mouth, the taste aspect will hopefully make them hold the bait longer.

I really like the Mega Strike and Carolina Lunker Sauce.  They have both worked well, but what I really like is the mess free application.   ;D

Man, there is some stinky stuff out there.  I cannot imagine wheat some of it must smell like when heated up.

Still, that's got to be a huge laugh.

I threaten my wife all the time that I will but some TS Power Bait in her pillowcase.

I use pautzke's Bass Factor, its awesome. I gotta try that rag soaked in fish attractent in my teachers car!!!

I also read that the garlic flavored Pam works as well but is cheaper although I don't know if that flavor is made anymore read the article sometime ago might be worth a try for those who haven't purchased any scent yet.

I usually spray in the package with the worms. But I have heard doing that can melt the worms.

Is this true?

I read where it's best to put the scent on your hands.

Then a bottle of it last longer.
